I don't think so, maybe on one as there is some plastic shreds coming out. Sure enough the one that fell out. They all seemed pretty tight to start with but all 4 of them backed out after only one battery pack run.

Excellent thread, thanks for all the useful information!!

One question: Would it be a good (or stupid) idea to buy a used Nitro roller to use for spare parts? Are the majority of the parts the same betwenn Nitro and E version or would I just be wasting my money?

Not easy to find used E-Cobra where I come from. Lot's of cheap nitros though....

Thanks!

As I look through a lot of the spare parts on Amain, most of them seem specific to the 811 E. Serpent just released and update to the 811 nitro, the Team Edition, which I'm guessing will probably have more of the 811 E parts as its the most updated.
We will probably see a lot more 811's up for sale now as well as many ppl will want the updated Team Edition.

"they" say you don't need spare parts for these durable cars. I like having them anyway just for a piece of mind and so I don't miss a race day if something does break.

Chops, I checked and I did put the correct 6mm set screws in. The lock tight seems to be holding them tighter now. Only time on the track will tell for sure.

I have another question for you experienced guys here.

When you set your ride height, you set it with the batteries and body on right? Fully dressed?

Also what size batteries are most guys running? I have here Nano Techs 5300, 5600 and 6000 and some Racers Edge 6000. I got real long run times out of the 5300's so now I'm thinking all these others are overkill and just add weight.
Since most are still brand new I'm thinking of selling them and buying 5000 and 5300's.

BTW,the Racers Edge 6000's do fit, but I had to dremel the battery tray lid a little since the bullet holes are in more from the edges of the battery then the tray lids were made for.

Adjust ride height with the batteries in. I run the Nano 5600 and the little weight difference in batteries isn't really going to matter with an Escale.

Looking to pick up one of these Serpent's for my first e-buggy plus a Tekin motor/esc combo.. this looks like a kick ass kit, cant wait to build it.. I also run 1/8 nitro, so maybe I'll get a nitro one too

Anyone know the March Amain Hobbies code? Jan/Feb doesnt work anymore.

miss sgrid as well

Just got my Serpent today (used). I traded my Mugen ECO for it. Good buggy, but I'm ready to try the Serpent now. We'll see if it can supplant my awesome Ve8. Nothing else has so far.

I began the tear down this evening. My first impression is good. I like the quality of the components. I'm liking the layout as well. That's what I call a beefy chassis.

For Amain: $5 = CALPMAR125, $12.50 = CAPMAR1212, $25 = CALPMAR1225

Here's a question for you Serpent experts. Does the 811e share a lot of the same parts from the 811 Nitro buggy? I'm assuming it does.

They should have been in the bag that had the hubs. There not the same size as the ones that go in the sway bar there longer
