Oh yea, forgot about the 8+ chassis. I don't run one so it didn't come to mind, I'm thinking about trying it out however.

Yup its on my list, however not sure my driving skill is good enought to notice a difference but I will pick one up in time to give a shot.

Worst case scenario is you don't like the way it drives and switch back to your standard chassis and have a back up.

You can also use a set of worn 26mm belted TC tires and rubber cement.

Cut off the TC tire sidewalls at the belt edge, scuff both the TC tire rubber and buggy rim with a scotchbrite pad and wash with Dawn dish detergent. Apply the rubber cement, center the TC tire on the buggy rim, let dry and then finish the buggy insert and tire install.

You can also move the TC tire "band" closer to the outer edge of the rim during gluing which seems to add more sidebite. The further inward its mounted seems to make a ball diff feel tighter through a corner than its adjusted.

The insert/tire/rim air gap directly affects traction... but offroad tires dont have belts like TC tires so traction is lost with carcass stretch. Ive tried belting offroad tires before... its a completely different animal. Not better... just different (and very hard to tune for bumpy/loose tracks). I used "muffler tape"... which is basically thin fiberglas mat, and used rubber cement for adhesion.

Hey guys, I'm getting my new B4.1 ready for our offroad season to start here in a couple weeks. I need a setup recommendation. I've got the +8 chassis, shorty lipo, avid rack, BB parts are on order (not sure if they will be here in time). I am NOT running on a super high bite smooth clay track though. It will be a med bite dirt clay mix. Tires of choice will probably be double dee's or even subcultures (for SC). The track will probably start out fairly smooth but there are going to be a lot of 1/8th scales running on it as well. So its going to get some ruts before we are done.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Run Cavs worlds setup, it will likely be almost idea for what you are looking for. The worlds was ran on a similar track and this setup has been used as the starting point for most tracks when using the +8mm parts.

Dude, no need to be like that. By the way you spelled "undisputed" incorrectly.

Does anyone know if the world kit 8mm chassis has the mold plug like the conversion kits do?

Ya, the +8 I got a few months back looked like the mold used was 50 years old.
