Happy New Year...
I don't mind the "other" part of the hobby, I enjoy all parts of this hobby. For the most part 90% of the guys that I race with are only concerned about club racing. Many of those racers want to buy something, drive it, and not spend more time and money on tinkering. I just like to show them that the truck is capable out of the box with some "minor" setup changes.
That being said, I'd love to get a 2nd SC10 4x4 to convert and run them back to back and see the difference. I'll never be able to keep up with Kody or the Ryans. I'm way too old and not talented enough

Un-true.

All Novak BL motors and all controllers are manufactured and serviced in Irvine, California.

Guys if you really think that any of the boards on these ESC's are made in America you are mislead, and that also goes for the truck kits. Its a simple fact that an avg American makes more in a day than a laborer in China makes in a month. Hobbywing makes Orion and Speedpassion ESC's, i run Speedpassion software in my Hobbywing ESC's!!
That's great that you're happy with your Chinese junk and you're happy with contributing to the downfall of the country in which you reside. You realize there IS a reason a Tekin RSPro is more than double the price of any of the Chinese 1/8 scale speedos, right?
Not only are the boards built in the USA on Novak, Tekin and some Castle speedos, so are the Novak and Tekin motors.

What on Earth could you possibly be doing to kill Tekin speedos? ThunderbirdJunkie knows of one guy that has killed a few running boost and timing on a 7.5/RS combo, but that's (knowingly) running that speed control on the ragged edge (and obviously well past it in some instances).

Your statement about where things are NOT made would be just as ridiculous as ThunderbirdJunkie claiming that none of your stuff is made in the USA, and it's a terribly dangerous mindset to assume these things. Might as well say Coke cans are not made in the USA, or you can't buy a Plano toolbox made in the USA, or Jeeps are not built in the USA.

So all of your circuitry and board components are made in the US? manufacturing and servicing is not what i was referring to i have no doubt that Novak is "assembled" in the US but are 100% of your components made in the US? IF so than i stand corrected as you guys are one of the few left!!

So let me see if i got this right, Mantisworx takes a Tekin RX8 put it in Mantisworx truck with the Tekin pro4 motor run it for two weeks with 10* of boost and it burns out. Take Mantisworx Hobbywing and put 15* of boost same motor same batteries and it still runs(2 mths now) and runs better but Mantisworx is obviously doing something wrong right? gimme a Effin break!!! Mantisworx is not stupid and dont wire things up wrong or any of the things that you are going to say Mantisworx did wrong to blow them up!! fact is ( at least for me ) the hobby wing is running and my Tekins dont say what you want. Mantisworx has been in the Mfg industry for a LOOOOOOOONG time and its obvious by your statements that you have not!!

So what is the "ragged edge" you speak of? if Tekin says the ESC should run a 7.5 than it should be able to do so with any settings, that is just a dumb remark???? no where in the Tekin manual does it say " only run the RS with a maximum timing of ____ nor does it describe what the ragged edge is. If they were worried about a 7.5 being run on the ragged edge than they would just state that max motor is an 8.5 and call it a day.
Mantisworx doesnt mind paying 200bux for and esc and it last (and i keep trying) but if for any reason they dont last and my cheap chinese ones do than i choose to spend my hard earned money on products that last FOR ME not you. Mantisworx bet you pay for 200.00 "american made" LIPO's too dont ya? oh wait they are not made in the US either............ go take a walk in your kitchen and pick up any of your dishes, stove plastic containers, your car etc etc and see where they are made as well as your Chevy or ford. Pop the hood pull out a relay and you will see that it says "mitsubishi" on it!! What about the computer you are typing with? thats ok though right?

CMON man its just reality, as sad as it may be Mantisworx is keeping it real at the end of the day its about profit margins. labor rates or 500% higher in the US than in China bad quality or not.........

Could post a pic or link. I always get confused when looking at all the models the hobbywing stuff comes in.

What do you need to program it, field card?

programming unit:
http://www.hobbypartz.com/hobbywing-...cards-box.html

they are always out of stock at hobbypartz for the 120a so i got mine off of Ebay this is the one you can use Speedpassion software and unlock boost/turbo!:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hobbywing-XE...item4aaea39ff1

i suggest upgrading the capacitor with these:

oh and i almost forgot, the 80a model is really designed for 4s so if you want to use it with 2s you will need and external BEC.
