This will change few components of suspension geometry making car much more stable. New 8.2 wing mount takes care of having to modify old wing mount.

Default rc8be conversion to SC

I have an extra RC8Be sitting around collecting dust that I'd like to convert to SC10 to beat up some Slash 4x4's. I heard this can be done and not too costly. Has anyone done this and can tell me exactly what I need for it to be legal. Will it run on 2S with right set up? Thanks for any help!

I did one, not running it on2S though. I will try with my Mugen conversion though, it's lighter

quick questions, since I am converting from a nitro for the winter can I use the stock 44T metal center diff gear instead of the plastic 46 that comes with the conversion kit? Are they all mod 1? I know the electric stuff is, but the pinion to spur meshed seemed a little on the rough side compaired to the 46 plastic. I am running a sensorless 1750kv motor and the 2 tooth difference will help with the gearing especially if I am going to run the 18-20 tooth range pinions for indoor.

also, I havn't picked out my batteries yet, can a 40C 5000 4s turnigy soft pack fit in the battery tray without modifications?

I prefer the stock plastic spur gear..its WAY quieter and very very durable..I have hundreds of packs through it with no problems. The plastic spur is a mod1 yes, I dont think the metal one is. I would look into hard pack lipos..the soft packs dont seem to hold up too good in a 1/8 buggy..or maybe Im just hard on equipment

Noticed these are not the 8.2 shock towers, will the 8.2 towers work?

If you want to use the 8.2 towers I believe you need the 8.2 shock shafts. It has been reported that the geometry doesn't change between the worlds and the 8.2 towers only the height. It was said that the towers were change so that the regular shock ends could be used.

Also need 8.2 springs if you get the 8.2 towers & shafts.

Whats different with the 8 compared to the 8.2 shafts and springs? Will the original shocks not work if I get the 8.2 towers?

The way I understand it is; The 8.2 has shorter shock towers. Therefore needing shorter shock shafts. To bring it all together the springs have been revised also. If you use "upgraded" shock towers, the old (if you will) shock sets will be correct mounted to the 8.2 arms. I don't know if one setup has an advantage over the other, but I don't believe so. Someone correct me if I'm off base...

Are the revised towers lower then the originals? The main reason I was going to the 8.2 was to lower the profile of the buggy .... I was wanting to buy a spare tower so figured why not upgrade.

Just got a Rc8be just looking for tips on setup. I drove it today and it sounds like back end or something is scraping on take offs or landings. Also if anyone know if they make or where to get alum castor blocks.
