They were not pinned. The only team member pinned to my knowledge was Mike Nelson. Mike also was running an aluminum chassis but his setup was really different. I used it for the mains and it worked good but uses custom pistons in the shocks, elevated rear uprights etc.
To me Ryan and Kody proved the truck works against Losi's best. Mount up some sadles, install a brace and basket and you are FT race ready. Not really that big a deal.
Keith.

If you watched how Mikes truck came out of the turn after the front straight you could tell he was pinned. He really had to fight to keep it from doing a wheelie and he was using just a std clutch with FT pads. I felt it after the main and it was not really even warm.
Kody told me he was not pinned and he was running pretty much what Ryan was.

Words to live by. I try to never make a change before the mains, no matter how bad my sled was in the last qualifier.
One of the biggest differences I noticed with the pin in were jumping, it was a totally different animal with the pin in it. It took me about 5 laps to unprogram myself to how I was driving it before, but it was much better afterwords (for me).
How was it for you?

The slipper set up was more forgiven through there and over the tables. The pin does push a lot more on power around long sweepers. (the turn you can't see under the camera) Which made for confidence around to high speed turns, but I did open the door once that let the TLR inside of me, mostly my bad there though.

Try page 722 for a start. I found it by typing pinned in the search
Holy %^&^ I've reached the end of the thread. I can't express my sense of elation at actually having reached the last post on the last page of this epic thread. So much good information, I am now suffering from analysis paralysis and eyes are bleeding.
Now to put into practice all that I've learned, one of which being don't get into it with either CraigMBA or Coyote....it's like bringing a water gun to a tank battle (just kidding boys:
)
I actually have to go back and search the thread as it seems you guys were making changes to the orings, in favor of Trackstar silicone replacements, in the stock shocks, seems they were binding. More reading to do it would seem. Keep the knowledge flowing boys!

What Keith said, plus the sticky, and you'll be gold. On a high bite track, anyway.
I always screw up hardcore when I make a change without extensive practice. My muscle memory of a setup is almost crippling.

The trackstar O-rings are the first hop-up I purchased. I used them in my Stock shocks, and put them in my FT upgrades too. Not ever. once. Leaked. Alot of guys save themselves some bucks and just take out the top Stock O-ring and run with the 1 on the bottom and swear by it too. I don't know the difference on the track, but I love the smoothness and for sure noleak of 2 Trackstars. They're worth the 4 bucks. I bought three sets.
Welcome! And I don't bite. PM me anytime, I can help with generic stuff for sure. I'm not a Mantis, Symm, Craig, or (someone else i'm forgetting who will be offended) :P But I can help and i'll answer asap.
