Matched packs are going to be better no matter what,most people cycle their packs at 30 amps,even though the matching is done at 35 (soon to be 40) it's just easier on the packs and your equipment.

Actually 4.8 volts should be fine,check your bit height it may be too high and I always use a diamond bit,as far as cut quality it doesn't matter but for longevity reasons it matters.

Amp draw is only used as a guide,I look at it after I rebuild a motor and then have a reference for when it is dropping off and needs to be rebuilt again.

Usually you can monitor your motors performance with a amp draw check and you can tell when it needs to be rebuilt.I use my MM motor master just for this.

My CTX-D is the only thing I use for discharging and EQing it works perfect everytime,couldn't ask for a better piece of equiptment.I've had mine for about 9 months now and love it.
