Default Should Pro Drivers Be Racing In Stock?

After the carpet nats, I have seen the same guys winning stock. Should this class be for the average racer? Or the up and commer? I know this topic has been covered but when you get the same sponsered drivers winning a class that was designed for the racer that could not compete with pro drivers, should ROAR let this keep happening?

Large races are for large competitors...even stock. I hate to say it but why wouldn't they be allowed? They have obligations to the manufacturers that support them. True, I do believe there should be a series dedicated to the amateur driver that isn't sponsored (hmm..like TCS racing) but big names draw the publicity. Also, it isn't really ROAR's responsibility to define WHO is allowed to race in what classes...they simply define the classes that many large races use and even then..many use their own rules. I know it can get old seeing all the same names in every A main from Stock to Mod but these guys have the sponsorships they have for a reason...they can flat-out drive.

Of course they should not be. And really should not be racing 19T either.

You will never see Cavalieri, Drake, Amezcua, Maifield, or Tebo racing 19T.

Here is a link to the Stock Carpet Invitational race that will separate all the drivers into the classes they should be racing in. All the information is at the link below.

There really needs to be a new forum grouping started. Put all the stupid reoccurring threads in there...

No they should not be racing Stock or 19T.... If these guys can drive, why not race MOD where the best are?

Other people get discouraged when day in and day out there getting beat by a factory guy in stock.

Stop killing the hobby!

Maybe they could rule that brushless be the non sponsored class. 4300 on down. That is an option. That would possibly separate the privateers and the sponsored drivers that are on a higher level of racing. Could this work?

Right on Rick! It is very hard for people to understand that factory guys racing in the stock classes prevents and stunts the growth of the hobby. Generally speaking beginners are intimidated by racers with all the factory support, at any and every level of competition. Combine that with the fact that these guys just dominate and slap around average club racers and it makes for a very unappealing category to participate in. And it isn't about equipment either, it really is about their skill level. Merely separating them and enforcing the class limitations is all that might need to be done. C'mon Martin Hudy running rubber touring class at snowbirds???

Cool

What...and miss out on all the performance bonuses, travel reimbursements, and paid entries for sandbagging in stock and 19Turn?

Surely you jest! You're taking money out of their pockets!

Seaball: Looks like it's time for another "Pro Drivers in Stock" thread bump-and-run.

I think he was trying to show that after that race if you have stock guys in the top 10 with the Mod guys then you can see where they actually belong...In Mod. The stock guys who are all at the bottom are probably where they belong....In Stock.

This race will separate all the pro stock, pro 19t and mod drivers into one class and the other class will be for everyone who has not made an A main or races just weekly club races.
