I don't think too many classes is the biggest...

I don't think too many classes is the biggest problem in the hobby. Racers actually race more than one class to get more track time in.

I would say cost/time consumed per the amount of time...

Around our track, pretty much all the racers have 4wd buggy kits, still nobody races them. Too much maintenance and racers don't like switching from 2wd to 4wd driving styles are the two biggest...

If the front arms are binding when that brace is tightened down, then the edges of the brace are bent. bend it back or replace the brace to solve that problem.
