That's 100% the same factory, they also used to make Yokomo's motors. Trying to remember which factory it was but I do know their main line was plane motors and ESCs.

I wouldn't worry about the registering function, very few clubs, if any at all in Australia, upload their results to the mylaps website, and this is the only benefit of registration.
