Ryde it like you stole it: the Ryde Drivers thread.

Hi,
We thought we'd start a new thread for anyone who races at Ryde so we can socialise, exchange views on Ryde in general and basically have a laugh.
There are no rules as to what you can and can't post but please be respectful of other people.
If people want to, it would helpful if people signed of their post with a name or initials, so people know who we are.
Look forward to racing with you tomorrow
Steve

The only typos spellcheck says is socialise, It says it's socialize, but hey I aint American so it's socialise, just asked my wife and she agrees with me....shit, she agreed with me, where do I buy a lottery ticket.
or maybe I'll be busy for 2 minutes if you get my meaning

signed of = signed off
Look forward = looking forward (you couldn't say "I am look forward to seeing you")
Sorry I know it is pedantic but what can I say, I did an English major. I try to keep it to myself but sometimes it rears its ugly head and bites some one in the bum.
Don't get me started on inappropriate apostrophe applications. I also majored in Political Science so I am prone to on a bit about antidisestablishmentarism (by the way that's the longest legitimate word in the English language - I think I spelled it write?).
You know what really irks me though is Racing Lines magazine, it is so full of typos, grammatical errors and just plain poor writing I can't bring myself to buy it anymore. That and the fact that it's 90% company press releases and doesn't give prices for anything.

Ummm, the idea was mine and Steve's, so if we're not on the original one there won't be too many others.

Morning all
The weather forecast is for a shower or two. I've just looked outside and can confirm it is DARK, pitch black, nighttime
BMT, Saturday racing is back on suggests to me that car access is available now,
Just a reminder to everyone to keep their speed to pretty much zero as they drive in.
can everyone spare a thought for Nick who has to go to palm beech this morning for his sisters birthday breakfast, so Nick while you're having a flat white and a foccacia we'll be flying over the tabletop, battling with our mates on the track, swapping setup advice etc etc.
see you in the arvo,
Steve

Losi Sprints - they beat you today! I think
. Or anything square and .... well....fuzzy

tires?
try Losi BigShots (or similar Ifmar pins). almost always work on all offroad sydney track surfaces. i know it will work at ryde. definitely keep a pair handy.
PL Holeshots will also work. but the wear rate will make you
i find JC double-dee's to be a fantastic subsitute .. it makes you
and wonder why you didn't switch earlier

Bigshots were good when the track was rougher, but now it seems that square lug tyres work really well. I did back to back comparisons with the Ifmar Studs and Bigshots and Losi Sprints and it was the Sprints by far and then the Bigshots and the Ifmar studs were useless, but great when track is damp or wet.
If you can't get Sprints (very likely) or Bigshots (often hard to get) then Holeshots are a good option, but yes they wear quick and they're exxy.
It's all a moot point to me as I have enough Sprints to last me the rest of the year and possibly longer.
The real question is what to run at St Ives, as it will be an entirley new surface and doesn't look like any of the clays I've seen around Sydney before (I could be wrong as it is new and it was wet).
By the way BMT, I really must show you the TA02 you helped me make, I keep forgetting to bring it and everytime I see you at the track I seem to be trying to sort out a parenting issue!
My two cents ( 0.012796 USD) worth.
Cheers,
Nick
