You should not need to use any thread lock. I've met very few racers which use any thread lock on their wheel nuts. But when it's used, I've seen blue(medium strength used). Do not use red threadlock...

How Often To ReTighten And Or Check Your Wheel Nuts On Your RC.

Once you've tighten the wheels very firm, how long after you tighten the wheels are they working their way loose?

I tighten the wheel nuts after each battery pack. They will work themselves loose...
