I feel like tapping plastic makes the screws thread too easily. They seem to lose a lot of holding power. The old old Losi kits use to give you a 4-40 screw that had tapered threads for starting...

Where are you running this? 1 cell or 2 cell battery?

7.5 is a tremendous amount of motor for this car. Typical would be 17.5 or 13.5 with a one cell battery's.

Correct the stock cap is 330uf and low ESR. You must have a low esr cap for that low a cap. I've seen it suggested by Tekin before if you are in a pinch to use 10k plus in lieu of the tekin stock...
