ESC Question
#1
Hi,
I am looking at this ESC. TBLE-02
https://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radi...rushless-45057
It states (Sensored-Type, 10.5T, 12.5T, 14.5T, 16.5T). Since higher T's are lower RPM's, shouldn't it be able to use say a 17.5t or 21.5t motor?
Or... does it have something to do with the firmware of the ESC?
I have seen the lower limits on ESC's but, never a high limit.
Thank you,

I don't see any issue using lower wattage motors (more turns)
But I wouldn't really recommend that Tamiya ESC
Find something that says Hobbywing that meets your needs at that price range

I am researching the stock Mini kits and I believe it comes with them. I am going to want a brushless motor and hoping I can use a 17.5 or 21.5. And yes HW is my go to.
Take care,

Just means 10.5 is the lowest turn it can handle.

FYI, folks. It did matter in this case. The ESC would not run the 21.5T motor. It cooked the ESC. I tried it on two of the same kind TBLE-02. I believe it can't handle the timing properly and there are no timing adjustments for it. Luckly the second one wasn't damaged. I went with a matching ESC from the same manufacturer of the motor. Works great.
Hope this helps someone. Take care.
