I have a brushless motor and esc for my 1/18 car and the pinion doesn't fit the shaft, and the motor mount holes line up but i need a bigger screw. could i possibly drill out the pinion to make it fit the shaft, and drill bigger holes in the motor mount to put the bigger screws in. The two screws from my 1/10 fit perfectly.

Sounds like you got the wrong size motor.
