Can it atleast keep up on other pro car? planning to join it in 23t class or stock 27t Roar

I don't think so. It isn't a horrible car, but you can get into a used TC3 for nearly as cheap and have a nicer shaft drive car. A TT-01 against tuned Xrays, TC3's, or XXX-S I don't think will hold up real well unless your and excellent driver. And unless the club track sells Tamiya and has parts for it, it's going to be harder to find parts last minute should you break during a heat.

If your just getting into touring sedans I'd suggest a TC3 to start with, it's easy to tune and find advice for. If the other cars are going to be older Tamiyas or it is more of a unskilled class in general I bet a T-Spec would be a decent choice as well; but I don't know how a tspec would do against higher end cars.

I'd agree unless you plan on doing the Tamiya racing thing, then you'll be in a seperate clas for those cars. But, just one on one with real racing tc cars is like running with a handicap.

The TT01 is a toy car. It doesn't even come with ball bearings.

What's really bad is the car has 0 adjustments stock. You are stuck with high ride hight, no camber, caster, or toe adjustments.

Sure you can buy all the parts to make it adjustable, but then you have a $400 TT01 that will still not be up to most other cars.

If you want a good cheap Tamiya, get the TB02!!
It's around $150, has all the adjustments, it's strong, and you can turn it into the TB EVO III with all the carbon fiber parts. Plus, all the TB EVO parts fit on it.

For what you want to do, the TB02 or a used TA04R would be much better choices. Less work and more adjustments if you go with the 04 but if you absolutely, gotta have shaft drive then go with the TB02. The 04 was the overwhelming choice of most of the GT2 class winners at this years Tamiya Nationals.

i know a heap of people with ta04 based chassis[eg:ta04s/ta04r/ta04trf] and they haven broken anything and are very happy that they got a ta04

yeah im very happy with my TA04 pro SS... if you wanna join a tamiya cup... go to TB02's and TA04's like the guys mention earlier... it can also keep up with the latest RC kit models...

my friends mildly hopped up TT01 can keep up with my carbon fibre TA04 in a stock race...think about that

good drivers though can make a tt 01 go fast an keep up or win 540 races ..but in stock i doubt it.

with on;ly being able to use 3 pinions in total ..the tt 01 has no chance to b geared properly

a well tuned ta04 in hands of a good driver should come out 1st ... due to all it's tunability !!

tt 01 are great for TCS an beginners who really only wish to bash
not for serious racers !!

I don't know guys... I recently ran my TT-01 against a friends 415 using black mabuchi motors and I was suprised the TT kept up with the 415 and even beating it out of the corners! Oh yeah... just for kicks, we're not rookies... so this has some credibility in it...

my friend has about the same driving skill as me, his TT01 is majorly geared up and we are running 540J motors. my TA04 isnt SSG, the only SSG it has is the battery braces. i have the carbon tub chassis and carbon fibre upper deck.
i wuldnt underestimate the TT01, it has potential if u put some money into it...has ANYBODY seen the kai racing TT01. that thing should be a freaken TRF

an those hop ups don't come cheap ...
so my point is it's potential is low ...due to the fact u have to spend extra on top ..just to make it on par with a ta04 ..!!

which i believe would b a cheaper buy ..!! an then u can make the ta04 go even faster ... with better hop ups.

also ..i already said a tt 01 can keep up an win with 540 motor an the rs540 as well ..with other chassis

but with a stock motor ... never !!

I have to disagree with a modded TT01 keeping up.

My TT01 has every dam part they make for it, and some Square parts.

It's SLOW compared to my TB EVO III and most other cars.

It also lacks steering, and it's ride hight is WAY, WAY to high, even with TRF shocks.

In the pick, I notice all the Hop-Up's. That looks to be about a $300 TT01. I don't know about the rest of you, but for $300, you can have just about any REAL race car, why bother with a cheap toy? It just doesn't add up to dump 3x the cost of the car to make it fast when you can get a TB02 for $150 and it will still beat a $300 TT01.

While my TT01 is fun to bash around out side, it just doesn't make a good race car.

Hehe... oh yeah, my TT01 is a basher too... no intentions of really racing it (although some of our team members are greatly looking into using it for GT3).
