I found an unboxing video of one as well. It is in Japanese but I am sure the videos are coming.

Proud 4pxr owner here and I'm always the first to go for the latest and greatest but there ain't no way in hell I'm upgrading (is it really and upgrade? &#129300 to the 7px. All I see is a stick with what looks to be an iPhone pouch attached to it. No sex appeal for me, no deal.

Interesting take on the design. Overall layout and shape is about the same as 4PX-R but has a larger touch screen. It will support a faster protocol which is definitely a upgrade. I'm hoping the 7PX is not nearly as power hungry as the 4PX but with that screen I highly doubt it. I can only get about 4 weekends worth of practice before I have to recharge the battery which is about half of what I can do with 4PKS-R.

From what I can see it will be roughly the same weight. 4px/r is 573g with drop down wheel and battery, 7px is advertised at 580g, would have to assume that's including battery.

As claimed by the Futaba website the 7PX is only faster if you use TFHSS-SR receiver with no telemetry in conjunction with SR mode compatible Futaba S bus 2 servos. In fact 7PX with TFHSS-SR is slower than FASST when using standard digital servos.....

I have been suspecting that Sanwa and Futaba had already hit the physical limit of the 1.5ms or 1,520 neutral servo communication standard can provide a while back and had to modify the servo communication standard to get less latency. Futaba finally came out with their version of SSR and made a 760 standard for the new servos. Essentially the radio is not really worth an update unless you buy the SR capable servo with it.

It's quite interesting that Futaba called their communication standard SR which is very similar to Sanwa's SSR.

I am not sure that FASST will be faster (look at the tests on this forum) but agree on communication standard. I found info on Futaba web page that servos (BLS series) has to be updated (firmware) to use new T-FHSS SR protocol.

I didn't believe it initially but it is definitely information posted on the official Futaba website. Look at the speed graphics indicated at the bottom of the page.

Overview & Features - 7PX 2.4GHz T-FHSS Super Response 7-Channel Surface System - Futaba

It is only true (according to the images) for normal digital servos. On BLS it will look different imho. Also there is no T-FHSS w/o telemetry. There is no point to use SR mode with servos not supporting SR mode so charts are a bit misleading. I do more believe in this: http://www.rctech.net/forum/radio-el...m-results.html as my humble experience is similar to results shown in the table.

The question is how long 4PX will have to wait for the firmware (if any, if possible) upgrade with SR protocol...

I think it will be highly unlikely for that to happen
