The K is a Short Stack (9g lighter), more RPM = D4 1S
The KO is a Standard Stack (standard weight) more torque. = D4 |

from descriptions on Amain...
The 24KO features a bigger blank with more material in the stator. This makes it harder to heat soak the stator, and able to handle more timing and higher gearing. These qualities make the 24KO a better choice for high load applications such as any boosted class, heavier vehicles and short tracks. The 24K features a smaller blank with less material in the stator that produces more power than the 24KO, but is easier to heatsoak. This motor is faster than the KO initially, but depending on gearing, timing and load it could fall off more at the end of the run when compared to the KO. Because of this, the standard 24K is recommended for blinky applications. Thank you for the perfect explanation! I ended up getting the 17.5 24K for my RB6 blinky and ran it this week. It's very fast geared 72/28 @ 55 can. |
I like the 10.5t it has a lot of punch. Let 2 people drive it at our big race today and they thought it was a 7.5t 8.5t
My temp on the motor from my reading at 142 off the tekin RSX esc software. Gearing 2.6 buggy ratio 78/23 Great motor. |
.
is the 13.5t 24k roar legal or not? on the ROAR approved list it says 24k-o ... does that mean both 24k and 24ko is legal?

It seems ROAR has only approved (5) of the (6) 24K motors.

It is possible the vendor did not submit them to ROAR for approval.
So I have sent another message to the director himself, waiting for a reply. Because the certified motors are not on the list either :( I don't want to buy a motor and it not be approved. |
i wouldn't think the certified motors would need approval. there is nothing different about them from an off the shelf D4. they have the same components, the certified version just uses parts (stator/rotor) that meet a higher standard as tested.

Also just received word that the 13.5 24k was submitted on the 15th and is awaiting approval. |
