I think it's just a d4 that's a little lighter.......?
|
For those already using the D4 1s, would they use the 24KO?

Superior hobbies had two for sale as of yesterday. Supposedly the quality of parts has been upped and it shows. Very nice looking motor.
Word is this is in response to r1wurks motors owning the 1s d4 |
bigger bottom ring thicker tabs motor should be a beast
|
What is this one?
Brand: Team Trinity Product Code: REV1807 Availability: In Stock Designed For High Load Applications New Stator Design New Stator Material Certified Gauge High Temperature Wire Thicker Pure Copper Solder Tabs and Collector Infinite Timing Adjustment Grade 5 Ball Bearings More Vents for More Cooling Uses all D3.5 and D4 Rotors Built to ROAR, EFRA and IFMAR Specifications Comes standard with TEP1112 Vs this one Other than its a short stack. What is a short stack? What do you gain? Brand: Team Trinity Product Code: REV1802 Availability: In Stock Price: $99.99 159 Grams – 9 Grams Lighter than a D4! New Short Stack Stator Design New Stator Material Certified Gauge High Temperature Wire Thicker Pure Copper Solder Tabs and Collector Infinite Timing Adjustment Grade 5 Ball Bearings More Vents for More Cooling Uses all D3.5 and D4 Rotors Built to ROAR, EFRA and IFMAR Specifications Comes standard with TEP1112 |
The 24k is the short stack motor not the 24ko
|
so probably the short stack would be the way to go for a 2wd sc 17.5?...or the regular can?..these motors are very pretty to look/stare at.....
|
Surely someone has tried them by now?
|
Looks like R1 made them go back to do more homework.
|
What is this R1 you're talking about and why have I not heard of it?
|
|
Anyone try one of these yet ?

I just ordered two 24KO 13.5's that I will have for this weekend. I was hoping someone else already had some feed back on how they stack up against the D4. I was so close to just ordering the D4 certified. Let hope I made the right choice.:)

Just ordered one. Currently running the D4 1s. I'll give a comprehensive comparrison report once it's in and had a day at the track.
|
Any news?
Thinking of getting a 10.5t or the tekin gen3 10. 5t.. |
I ran the short stack 13.5 2 weeks ago in 1/12 scale 1s. Very strong motor, just as fast as my D4 certified 13.5. I was surprised at the rip this motor has out of corners.

But it "rips out" of the corners meaning more Wheel spin? Thanks for your input. |
I ran the new 24KO 13.5 this past weekend. I thought it was a better and faster motor then the D4.

My 24k 17.5 came in today. Haven't had it on the track yet but I have done some side by side comparisons to my D4 1s certified.
Unboxing: http://ignitetheborealis.com/images/rc/2.JPG http://ignitetheborealis.com/images/rc/1.JPG http://ignitetheborealis.com/images/rc/3.JPG First video is of my D4 1s certified with timing at 50 degrees on can, gearing at 69/33 with an Orion R10 Pro and an Orion 4500 100c batt in an RB6 3 gear tranny and slipper lock out installed. D4 Video Second video is the 24k same exact gearing, battery and ESC with can timing at 50, same as D4. 24K Video As you can see it is very punchy and seems faster. I'll have it on the track tomorrow to find out just how good it is. |
Thanks sir.. I need a 10.5
|
Whoa, looks like quite a difference. How much track time on that D4?

Looks like you had a current limiter on the D4 and none on the 24K.
Nonetheless, I've got my 24KO on order. |

My 10.5t 24k is ordered. In time for 16th race. Then next is the gen3 10.5t On the 23th. Then sell the other one that don't work for me.. |
What's the difference between 17.5K and the 17.5KO extreme? The KO states its for high loads, does it mean it's high RPM (lower pinion)?

The 24KO features a bigger blank with more material in the stator. This makes it harder to heat soak the stator, and able to handle more timing and higher gearing. These qualities make the 24KO a better choice for high load applications such as any boosted class, heavier vehicles and short tracks. The 24K features a smaller blank with less material in the stator that produces more power than the 24KO, but is easier to heatsoak. This motor is faster than the KO initially, but depending on gearing, timing and load it could fall off more at the end of the run when compared to the KO. Because of this, the standard 24K is recommended for blinky applications. |

The KO is a Standard Stack (standard weight) more torque. = D4 |
