Mid Motor vehicles dont accelerate as fast as rear motor. This is why I use a larger spur on my MM. My RM buggy is geared 32-34/70 where my MM is geared 28-30/72. Its fact that the closer the Spur and pinion are in size the more top end your car will have. Higher FDR = more torque and Lower FDR = top end. Its fact not something I came up with on my own.

I found my mm car would not pull the same gearing as my rm car. Not even close. Out of corner triples that were a breeze in rm were impossible with mm. Went down a couple of teeth on the pinion and it was better. Of course it lost some on the straightaway but if your casing jumps that the other guys are flying over, your in trouble.

Yes it was heavier. I'm going to build a lightweight mm tlr 22 soon. I'm not sold on mm in stock yet. But I have yet to try a 1500 gram one. I think rm cars look cooler and that's most important to me. When I get my lightweight mm car built I will be able to figure out if the 4th gear is the power killer I think it is.

Is there a difference between the D3.5 and D4 rotors? Or is it just a difference in the stator?
