Futaba 4PX

Hi guys, couple of quick questions.. I am actually looking at a T4GRS but there is very little info on that:
1. Is the fastest mode for the px TFHSS with the 304 receiver?
2. Is this mode actually legal for racing (I though telemetry was banned?)
3. I see the tx is life or nigh, but the 304 receiver can run on Lipo correct? For nitro running!
Thanks!

2)It is legal for racing. I think what is banned is the ability to change things such as setting in the ESC from the radio.
3)The 304 receiver can support up to a 2s lipo. I use one in my nitro and really like that I also get the voltage of that battery displayed on the radio.

I need some assistance in getting the lap buttons set up. For some reason I have it running fine on my old 4PLS but can't get it working on the 4PX. I've searched this thread and other places online with no luck. Any help is appreciated.

Futaba recommends a LiFe batt. Why chance it on one of the most important pieces in your RC collection. Especially when the LiFe batts are less than $16...

As I said earlier, Futaba'a promotional video shows, 2s comma LiFe comma NiMh. I took that to mean 2s Lipo compatible. Additionally, the voltage warning in the radio is adjustable up to 8.0 volts. Why have it able to go that high, if its not compatible? There aren't any esc's on the market that I'm aware of that let's you adjust cutoff past its cell limit.

I bought one as I could use all my old RX as well as the new fast T-FHSS.
The Orange R400F is C1 and C2 compatible so should work with the PX and is cheaper.

Hello everyone
I am going to buy a radio today and it's down to futaba or specktrum my question is how user friendly is the futaba vs the specktrum. I've used the old specktrum Dx3r pro for last 3 years so I am comfortable with it but I want something new. Any help would be greatly appreciated since I am buying the radio today.
Thanks
John

I sent this to Futaba support tonight but if anyone on here has the same issue please help:
Futaba Support,
Hello, I have a 4PX that I use in offroad and onroad racing. Since new a few months back I have a stuttering servo problem. If I crank the wheel back and forth quickly it seems smooth. If I move the wheel back and forth normally and even stop and hold, the servo seems to want to jump around and is real jittery. I have tried both the stock receiver and the 204GF-E. I have tried multiple servos: Xpert 3431, Futaba S9351, Orion 1409. I have set them all to analog as well as digital with the same results. Tonight I upgraded to 1.1 and still the same. I even tried putting the ESC in the #1 slot and the servo in #2 slot and used the my throttle finger to steer with the same results. This gave me the conclusion that it is not the wheel. The throttle and braking on the other hand is really smooth.
I am at a loss. I have raced for over 20 years and have used multiple transmitters. I recently had the KO EX-1 for a year and the Spektrum DX3R Pro for the 4 previous years. I don't think I am doing anything wrong.
Is there a setting I should check or something I can try? Is the response just so quick the it makes the servos jittery or stutter?
Thanks for the help,
Troy

I held the 4PX in my hand at the Hobby Shop on Sunday and oh my god! I am getting this thing!
Anyways a question for the Life Battery. Protek shown below. I don't right now have Life capable charger as I have the LRP Pulsar 3 and older Turbo 35 GFX.
So to get something low cost with this capability what is good way to charge this? I only see Life batts as this and receiver pwr pack for Nitro cars.
Also do you charge in the Futaba connector or Balance connector?

You would charge the battery outside of the radio. I have that exact battery and i plug it directly into my charger and connect balance lead to balance board. It is a bit of a hassle having to remove the battery every time you need to charge, but I race alot and charge 1-2 times a month. Usually closer to once a month, so its really not an issue.
