Samsung sd card and a SanDisk. . Fat 32 I believe. .

Is it because I'm using AA battery? Instructions says to have full battery.. not sure if this will cause it as I'm at 5.2V

B16A2 11-26-2014 06:24 PM

are you using Alkaline batteries ?

5.2 is on the lower side, try some fresh AA Alkaline, not researchable.

Your SD Cards are not above 32GB are they ?

Yeah... I think you're right.. I just used a buddy at the track lifE battery and same thing.. looks like when I get home I have to find a smaller sd card that I know I have somewhere. .

Thanks

B16A2 11-26-2014 06:45 PM

Tried someone 32GB sd card and a life batter 6.6v.... his card was a Samsung. . Nothing...I also put the battery on LIFe on the settings.. hold the end button and powered it up and nothing but main menu.. do the end points have to be center or anything? It's not center not sure if that makes a difference

B16A2 11-26-2014 06:53 PM

and what was the result

No update.. same thing..

When you get home, try a smaller SD Card and ensure its formatted FAT32.

Download and unzip the firmware again just in case your firmware is corrupt.

Insert the microSD card into your radio and power it on while holding the END button.

When you attempt to update what actually happens ? does it power up as normal ? blank screen ? error code ?

Will do... when I hold the end button and power up is goes straight to main screen like a normal turn on..

Not trying to tell you how to suck eggs, but to be clear the end button is the most left button. Press it first and hold it down. While pressing the END button press the PWR button.

Are you 100% sure the microSD is fully inserted ?

The supplemental instruction document indicates several error messages may be seen in the event of a failed software update attempt.

So, if a message is not being seen, I'd agree the card may not be inserted properly or recognized by the device due to being formatted incorrectly or too large as suggested previously.
