Futaba 4PX
#46
Pricing at the Futaba Pro Shop (page is in Japanese) shows 51,800JPY for the 4PX and 2 R304SB receivers, which is roughly USD$509. Every other 4PX and receiver combination is less expensive, so I predict we'll see it hit the shelves at $549.

No C1 support is weak. Probably intentional so they can lock out the FASST C1 compatible receivers that work perfectly at 1/3rd the price of Futaba receivers.

I imagine he's talking about C1 mode in general being slower than C2 mode.
As for the question, I personally can not tell the difference between C1 and C2 mode. Another benefit is if you run two classes and run a external BEC like I do in electric then if you run a different receiver type in each class you can leave one plugged in ready to go while running the other one. Sometimes helps with getting back on the stand faster if you are back to back or makes it easier for someone to just turn the second car on for you while you leave the first in fail safe mode in back to back races.
Now all of the above shenanigans would not be needed if the radio and receiver would store a unique ID when binding and use that as part of the fail safe. The various 4PK versions do not do that. Any clue if this new Futaba radio does?

I called futaba today to get some info on the new 4PX. John at Futaba USA is an ass. I don't know what this guys problem is but every time I've called in all the years I've owned Futaba radios it seams this guy always has something to be pist about.
I swear he was to be the WORST customer rep in the industry. I got zero information from him. You'd think i was asking him whats inside area 51 or something.

It says "Pure Carbon Handle" on that piece in English. I'm guessing its just a way to hold the radio when not operating it.
