yeah especially because the r1wurks is faster than it and legal (at least at my track).

I just had a quick question about using the lrp sxx competition spec v1 for stock racing. I was told that there is no blinky mode. If you set the esc to no boost is it the same as blinky? I wanted to run this esc since it fits better in my b5 than my gtb2. Does anyone know if the v1 is legal for stock racing?

Yep...just replaced a D3.5 in my SCT and so far, impressed

Luckily I only hit 1 ROAR race a year so my D3.5's are staying in my buggies for now.

Yup, R1 Wurks Motors are the hottest ticket right now at my track too! No wonder they're sold out LOL! Glad I got two of em!:)

I believe there is a stock/blinky mode. The trick is to set the "feel" at 0. Any # over that & it will not blink. & of course set the timing to 0.

I don't see all the fuss about the D3.5's!
I have one and I also have a Killshot.
The Killshot is faster!

If the killshot is faster is just in your application. You have a better timing/gearing combo... Its a proven fact that the illegal D3.5 is the fastest 17.5 motor out there. In carpet pan car racing where motor is HUGE the kill shot is easily 3 laps down.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the high discharge high charge factor. Putting heat into the battery is also a big difference in power for stock racing.

Was mentioned on the first page. It depends on where you race, ROAR events are a max 1c charge rate. Some tracks check battery temp and it can only be a couple degrees over ambient. Some dont want to spend the money on batteries every few months. It doesnt help if you cant keep the car wheels down for 5 minutes though.

Well that is Roar Illegal so that is probably why. You can charge at any resonable amount of amps but I believe the battery has to be +-5 degs of the ambient temp. Now 5 deg Fahrenheit isnt much but 5 deg Celsius is cough. I dont remember if it specified.
