Tekin Hotwire App!!
#814
When will the iOS app be fixed for the Hotwire 3.0? The iOS app will not load my current esc settings. Everytime I connect using Bluetooth, I get default settings.
Also, in the iOS app, the fan slider switch (auto - on) isn't working. All other slider switches work in the iOS app, except the fan switch. This is very important because the Hotwire 3.0 requires the fan to be always on.
Definitely issues with the iOS app! I've tried the Hotwire iOS on 4 different iPhones (different models) and getting the same issues.
The Hotwire 3.0 iOS definitely needs some attention!

Even did a software upgrade to 258 from 255
Not sure what the issue is for ya,
I do know when the app is opened, but not connected to the ESC the app does show the default app settings, but once the Hotwire reads the ESC, all my settings came up on both my phone and iPad

I did figure out the fan slider switch on the app. When it's connected via Bluetooth, if I tap default on the left menu, it will turn my fan to "on". But if I turn the power switch off on the RX4, physically disconnect the Hotwire from the esc, or unplug my lipo, I have to go through the Bluetooth re-binding process and all of the settings on the app show default settings. I made sure to tap "apply" after I made adjustments and tapped "drive" to disconnect the Hotwire. It's all good until I disconnect power from the Hotwire.
I beginning to think that I got a faulty Hotwire.

My Hotwire app for the iOS will not read the current esc settings. If I turn the power switch off on my RX4, and turn it back on, I have to go through the whole re-binding process with the Bluetooth. Then I'm back to square one.

Hi Randy,
Some help? My Tekin Hotwire Gen 1 will no longer connect.
After not needing to update my 1st Gen RS Pro for a long while, I wanted to make some changes. I was able to connect my Hotwire successfully on my old Windows 7 (32 bit) laptop. The latest version on my Hotwire was V223. I successfully made the proper updates to my ESC.
Immediately after updating my ESC, I then wanted to upgrade my Hotwire to whatever the latest version is. It seemed to have performed the upgrade. But now, I can no longer connect. I get the error "Unable to Find the Hotwire". I went to the Tekin website and tried to follow the instructions for this error. The USB is connected firmly (I'm using the same cable and didn't have any issues when I successfully changed some ESC settings).
Per the instructions, I deleted/uninstalled the USB driver (it showed as USBXpress). I manually found the "HotWire.inf" driver and tried to use that. It clicked through the warnings of "there's no digital certificate" and it seems to have installed. I now see the "Tekin Hotwire" as a device in the Control Panel/System/Device Manager.
Now, when I try to start the Hotwire, it starts and then turns off no matter how many times I double click it.
So I then tried to install it on a Win10 machine. It seems to install fine but similar to above, double clicking to start it, it turns off right away.
On both cases above, the red LED is lit on the Hotwire.
Would you be able to assist in getting me back on track (pun intended)?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
getting back to running Mod TC on carpet this season. Updated to 258 and I am using the new bluetooth module as well. Nice addition, thanks. :-) I did have it act up and not connect a couple of times I tried while on the drivers stand, I will double check that the fan is not set to auto, but I was pretty sure it is in "always on" mode, as it should be. I had the same issue as above where it went to default settings when I tried to connect while at the drivers stand, but not when on the bench as I changed settings. I will feedback what I find on that at the next race. This on iOS with a 5s iphone.
Any suggestions for settings? So far I like the smoothness, nice low end control, but pulls a bit flat feeling down the straight. I don't have what I am set to right now here at work while I type this, but wondering if any have any setting they like so far?
I like a very linear power curve.
Large fast layout, 100' straight four roll wide, not many really tight corners on current layout.
LRP X20 4.5 motor, lowest timing, 32* on checker, and 7.8 gearing at the moment.
Thanks.

I just got a brand new Hotwire 2.0. I want to run Hotwire on my PC but the program won't start - I'm getting a message that states there are too many USB devices plugged in. I've disconnected every USB device except the Hotwire and I'm still getting the message.
I've never had Hotwire on my PC before and I've installed the latest version of the software from the Tekin site. I'm running fully updated Windows 10 and an Asus Z170 Deluxe motherboard. I have an RX8 Gen3 ESC.
The Hotwire program installed fine on my PC as soon as I enabled .net 2.5/3.0 support in Windows features.
I can't find anyone else on Google getting this message. Any ideas?

Plug in ONLY your Hotwire, launch the software and hit the "Help" button. What version is installed?
