I would even have accepted we are currently working to repair the software issue, keep an eye on the site when the updates are ready.

You're not taking this the right way. There is NO software issue on our end. The "issue" or problem is that the PC you're using is mixing some key pieces of what is general "standard" issue Windows software. With some of the latest builds of Windows that are stripped down, some of these can be missing.

I wasn't in the conversation you had with Jeremy so I won't comment on it. However we have support staff that are here to help with Hotwire issues, even when they're problems with the end users hardware/software. Jeremy is fully aware and if he was unable to help you directly could have passed you to one of us that can help further. We will NEVER tell a customer or user that "oh well it can't be fixed" when we know you're working with products tested and functioning for 99.9% of people.

I personally test each new Hotwire on an XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8 platform for loading/installing issues. This isn't one of those times.

My guess is that between the two of you communication broke down and caused you to feel left out on your own. We're always here to help.

Feel free to hit me up here: [email protected] If I can't figure it out with you, I'll find the person that can.

Please send me the exact OS info, etc and we can sort it out.

I've been told that the RX8 Gen 2 only has Dual Drive mode. I know it auto detects brushless motors and this is the default, but I'm assuming you can put it in "full time" sensored via HotWire.

Thanks for confirming.

Moved from the Rx8 Gen 1 post...

This is for the Tekin guys.

I'm looking to buy the RX8 Gen2 combo with 1900kv motor for an 1/8 buggy.
I live in Taiwan and I cannot find a local distributor of Tekin products. Tekin's website says it's distributor list is under construction, so no help there.

Also if something unfortunate happens and I need service I see this:
Quote from website about shipping product to Tekin for service.
UPS, DHL & FEDEX INTERNATIONAL WILL BE REFUSED.

How does Tekin support international customers?

bgcustoms, the first thing you should do is make sure you have all the latest updates from microsoft.
dell has always been known for odd ball antics of computer architecture and proprietary components that need special drivers only avail from dell. that's why anyone with computer savvy never buys a dell.
they even used to have their own way of wiring up power supplies.

The RX8 Gen 1 & Gen 2 only can be ran in Dual Drive Mode.

There are no current distributor's in Taiwan. We do have RC Hobby Company, and RC Mart in Hong Kong as distributors.

As for sending service in from outside the USA, we only accept packages from your local postal service. UPS, FedEx and DHL all charge us hefty international fees for anything we accept.

Just a quick question regarding your distributors in Hong Kong as I live here. Who can I send my RX8 to here in Hong Kong for repairs under warranty?

Thanks

Negative. D2 Dual mode is always monitoring the sensors but isn't using them for timing purposes.

"Sensored only mode" generally refers to how overall timing is calculated. Motor timing + Esc timing = Total timing.

In D2 Dual mode motor can timing isn't a factor and isn't utilized.

You must send your units to us here in the USA for any service related matters. Dealers and Distributors are not required to handle any service items.

Hotwire Question

I have a slide rule and an abacus and was wondering if I could use them with hotwire?

No, sorry. There are no plans to support an abacus or slide rule at this time. :ha:

The default setting is at 80 which is a good starting setup. Most do end up in the 60-70 range.

On a medium sized indoor track with medium traction, we tend to tell people to start at 50% limit with the HD, simply because it has so much torque. If you feel you need more acceleration and aren't spinning the wheels, or can't keep the nose up while in the air, raise it. If you are still spinning the wheels a lot without the other issues, lower it.

silveraider14 11-16-2013 02:02 PM

its a small indoor track medium traction. I will start at 60
