Hey can someone tell me if there is a good link that explains all the settings in rx8 gen2 and what they do and how they work and why etc... Not just the manual. Like a "how to" or "for dummies" ha

Best way to figure it out is to open hotwire and I forgot how to access it but on each adjustment you can right click on the adjustment bar or slider arrow or maybe there's a question mark or something and a popup explains each adjustment and what it does.

For me whether its suspension adjustments or electronic settings I usually go from one extreme to the other to really feel what's its doing and then once I get the effect its giving fine tune it.

Yea I've read the explanations in the Hotwire exe but I want to truly "understand" it.

I think that's where the try the extremes comes in. Set push to max and you'll get it. Current limiter (sure you've figured this one out but as an example) set it to 40 and you'll get it.
Curves, same as expo on your tx but IMO more effective on the esc.

To answer you question though, I haven't seen a cliff notes for the settings other than Randy answering questions about a setting or two here and there. You will probably get more results from searching the gen1 RX8 thread if you search user name randy pike and key word of what setting your wondering about.

Most of the stuff in this thread has been about data log and current limit. The gen1 thread has years of info in it and its the same stuff as the gen2 except logging and adjustable bec.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to list the settings and effects and how & when to use them on the first post of this thread like in the SCT410 thread.

Example, this search on push control brought up a bunch of posts from Randy about it.

Having some trouble with my new RX8 in my Tekno SCT410. The throttle is almost like an on/off switch. I start pulling the trigger and bam it's either half or full throttle. There is no low throttle. So it won't go slow. The same goes for reverse.

My setup is the RX8 Gen 2, Pro4 HD 4300, Savox 1256, Spektrum DX3S, and Spektrum SR300 receiver. My brother has the exact same setup and tx/rx. His doesn't have this problem. I tried using his tx/rx and the same thing happens. So I ruled out the tx/rx. I'm going to see if it's the sensor wire tomorrow. Any other suggestions?

plug in hotwire and make sure the throttle curve is set to linear.

My ESC burnt up after one weekend of racing. E-buggy racing, 4s battery, default settings on the speedo. Raced it one Saturday and then 3 battery packs the next weekend and it popped and went up in smoke.
Anyone else having issues?

I have about 15 Tekin ESC's and have had 3 burn within 20 minutes of use. I just accept that a certain % of them will fail and sometimes quickly. send it back for warranty.

Double check your sensor wire. It might have come loose or a wire might have broke.
