I was just wondering if the white cases were dyeable. I don't care for the white really. Wondering if I could dye the white a funky color.
Don't bother trying to dye the case. It won't work, I tried and the plastic wouldn't take up the dye. I ended up painting it with spray enamel to make it presentable, now I'm waiting for my black case to get to my lhs. Randy, I think you should look into a limited run of colored cases. I'd bet they would sell out in no time. |
Yea. I'd buy red or blue or something like that. The white just looks like they forgot to finish it to me. Like running a clear body on your car. It works but just don't look right.

You can check out more pics in my albums under my profile.
Unfortunately it wouldn't let me attach a video URL link cause I haven't submitted enough posts. |
If I took apart case to paint does it void warranty?

I did the unthinkable Friday night rushing to make a qualifier. Reversed the bullet plugs. It only touched for a millisecond, but it was enough for it to emit a bad smell. Everything seemed ok after, I plugged it in correctly and ran the rest of the night on it. I also ran 2 packs on Saturday for practice and no issues.
I just hooked it up to the hotwire to see if everything there was working fine. My setup was still correct, I went in and made some changes and they all saved, etc. Is this ESC ok to use? Even though it appears to be working fine, should it be sent it for repair? Will it eventually smoke out b/c of my bonehead move? |

Just give us your Youtube name and we'll watch them there :)
Paste this to your search box with www in front of it. dropbox.com/s/9reqq8a2iqipnh6/EB48%20S%20ND1.mp4 I'm working on setting up my Youtube but it's very slow cause everyone's on it being it's the weekend. I'll set things up this week when there's less people slowing down the server. |

You obviously did some damage to it...how much is had to say. When you get that smell, even when touched for a millisec means things on the circuit board were heated past what they should be. Does the esc have any bad smell to it up close?
There is no smell at all anywhere near the ESC, even when its turned on. And like I said I've run packs right until cut off since the incident and no issues. Plus everything with the hotwire and programming appears in check. I'm sure the correct thing to do is send it in for testing, etc just to be safe. Just wanted to see what some other racers thought. |
It's a good thing that there is no smell to it.
As for sending it in, wait for Randy's advice on that. (Don't want to steer you in the wrong direction) Personally I'd do some testing on the circuit board and if everything tested good I'd run it, but you have to have the right tools and know what your doing for that. |

White looks fine imo. Not unfinished at all. This was new but it still looks great in my eco. I try to keep the car clean as much as I can. http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/6797/2r9m.jpg |
