Last night my batteries were done at 7 minutes 30 seconds of an 8 minute main. Durango DESC 410 Gen 2RX8 Pro4 4000 Fantom/Trinity 65/130c 5400 mh batteries. Tonight I went to move the current limiting from 60 to 50. Plugged in the Hotwire it said software update to 238. I did it, re entered all my settings went to re-calibrate and when I turn it on there is no sound and when I try to re-calibrate, nothing happens.

Ideas?

Forget it. I had the motor on br few rather than bl fw.

I would think you could get better runtime then that with those batteries and that motor. Is the track very big?

TY@TEAMTEKIN 08-15-2013 09:31 AM

That seems like awful short run-time, I would expect about 10-12 minutes from those packs.

TY, sent you a PM.

Thanks,

No he's about right in the TD truck. Saddles don't hold up to 8 minute races all that well on larger tracks or tracks where you can rip on the gas.

Where were you geared?

14/54 at HotRod hobbies low 19 second lap times hard on the gas at 185 degrees after I pulled it off at 7 minute 30 seconds.

What's the policy for solder posts coming undone when its still under warranty? A friend of mine had one come off apparently.

Off? In all likelyhood it was caused while soldering up the motor. It's easy enough to fix with the proper iron and skill. However if he was skilled in soldering I'd suggest sending in the motor for inspection. A short in the can could cause it and it's better safe than sorry. Especially if this is new or near new.

Help! At the track now with Tekno sc, tekin pro 4600, rx8, and 2s 5800mah 70c. The positive lead keeps heating and unsoldering on 2 minutes of running. ESC is 108, motor is 100 degrees. Tried the current limiter from one end to the other end of the spectrum. Gear mesh is good and drivetrain rolls smooth. Any ideas?

What kind of connector? Bullet? Its tired and squished in on itself. Replace with fresh bullets.
Deans or other plug together? Clean the tabs and stuff with alcohol if possible, those can get dirty and not make good contact... or replace.

Bullet right into the battery, in great condition.

If its unsoldering at the bullet, the battery port must be dirty and not allowing good contact or the bullets are squished in. Doesn't have to be thrashed, just needs to be a little loose in the port to arc and create enough heat to melt solder.
Try sticking a pin or tooth pick or exacto or something down the center to squish them back out or better, for $3 if they have them at the track, replace.

The bullet didn't look bad but we switched it out anyway based on the posts. Seated 4th in the A now. Thanks!
