Yes, exactly, 1 to 2 years ago, all the owners, gradually went down all the regulators, and BECK, and power Board, all gradually had problems, also 1 controller not earned new! I worked for a year, I sold it but the buyer has ceased to operate power to the receiver, and he couldn't fix

I love me Tekin RX8 Gen 2, it seems like I learn something new about it everytime I use it.

My temps are always really low. ESC stay ambient all the time. Motor is around 100f . I'm using a 14t pinion, and 80 degrees of timming on my Pro4. Car has alot of punch. I've never had a temp problem. Only problem I've ever had with temps is trying to hard to get the motor warm lol.

How can I adjust the power limiter? I keep hearing 80% or 60% power limiter. But, I can only change the concave of the power profile. Like linear, or aggressive, or mild etc. Etc.

I have Tekin Hotwire 2.0, but no adapter for my phone yet.

Can I change this right on the RX8 Gen 2?

I would like to try less power %, I'm using the mildest power profile it's number 1. I like it because it builds up very slow and feels so smooth when running sensored.

I set the power profile to no limit on my rx8 Gen2. My goodness! this little Pro4 4600KV just blows the tires off. It is absolutely uncontrollably powerful! I ran a whole pack out on full power, ripping! It was fun. Not practical whatsoever! But fun..

I just cannot see anymore power required.

It's amazing what a Tekin RX8, and Tekin Pro4 4600 combo do.

I had a Traxxas Rally 1/10 scale VXL on 3S lipo a few years back. And this Tekin RX8 Gen2 and PRO4 4600KV setup on 2S is just as powerful or more powerful then a 3S cheaper system.

I run mine in an 1/8 scale buggy on both a dirt track and 2 different clay tracks and only on the dirt one do I limit the power to 80-85% sometimes and I run the default profile #3 linear thinking about trying #4 on the high grip clay

YOU will not get any info meaning your data logging will not work on your android phones. You will have to take your Computer.

I hoping they would fixed this 3 weeks a go, but still ZERO push or even a word about fixing this.

Plus Side: I do like the add part of able to change your cell cut off. Before you had just 2 cell 3 cell 4 cell 5 ceel 6 cell. Now you can pick your OWN cut off.

3.4x2 cells = 6.8
3.4x4 cells = 13.6

Vs
the stock

3.2x2 cells = 6.4
3.2x4 cells = 12.8

Does it void warranty to change the RX8 Gen 2 housing? I'm new at soldering, I meted the fan shroud on the esc case a little. I've become really good at soldering now. And I may replace my case. It's just a small Nick in the white case. Nothing serious.

What a awesome ESC. Why does RX8 Gen2 use 12GA wire, but vthe mamba X uses 10GA wire?

When I resolder, should I go 10GA?

Replacing the case will not void your warranty. We offer the case in white(TT3830) and black (TT3831).

There is no need for 10 gauge wire, it makes soldering a real hassle and provides no advantage in the testing we have done

I thought they removed data logging but not true. They moved the menu item. Rather than in the top right of the screen you now hit the physical menu item on your phone. It gives you a list. Settings, info, etc - choose "data" and voila.

I could be wrong for your model, etc. but it worked for me no problems. Try it.

Yes I seen it on the menu part, But when I try to download the data it say no data.
but when i plug it up to my laptop or computer i can see the data that i have.

I called them and they said it would get fixed but that was 2 weeks a go.

Thanx for your info sir.

this is the beta 254

You may need to perform a factory reset on your esc. Note your settings before doing this:

Power up, hold both buttons on the esc down until the unit chimes, let go and let if finish. Once done, install your settings, radio calibrate. Test.

Did that on the phone with J. Did it 4 times

Then I called back and The Tech said they will push out a update next week.

Everyone is really busy. I understand.
The reason I got the Tekin is to NOT take my Laptop around. :sneaky:

Sir Pike do you know when they are going to PUSH out the fix for the Phone?

Thank you sir

I'm going to give this wire a try. It is 10 Gauge, and solid copper. It's very stiff wire. I kinda liked it, so I soldered some up. Wouldn't 10GA , and being solid copper, provide a better connection?

A few things need to be done on your setup.

1. That Pigtail of wire needs to go bye bye. You want to have some slack in the wire length for chassis flex and normal movement, but not an extra large amount of wire that has to be curled up, especially if its just one wire and the rest are short. Having wires that are not similar in length creates an unbalanced load of resistance on the phases.

2. As mentioned in my earlier post, the 10 gauge wire is hard to solder properly and has no advantage over 12 gauge. Pictured is an example of how your soldering points need to be on both esc and motor with 12 gauge. A poor soldering job, can cause permanent damage to a unit..

Do NOT use solid copper wire. The motor moves quite a bit when landing or on medium/hard collisions. Without much 'give' between the motor and ESC, something will eventually fatigue and fracture which can result in arcing or shorting out.

Technically speaking, larger gauge and/or solid copper wire provides a better connection. However, it is a very, very, very small difference at such a short length. Stick to 12 gauge, flexible wire and leave an extra inch or two for slack.
