Can you confirm this. That 80 degrees sounds like mad timing anyway :)
How much timing you use with tekin 4 pole motors and how much timing motors like Hobbywing 4pole 4700kv motor? I run minimal timing on my 4 pole motors. Maybe 5 degrees, depending on ESC and motor, maybe less. |

You can't install a "Y" connector. A trick I use from time to time is a thin piece of tape on the connector about 3/4" long to use as a "handle" on the connector. I don't make a ton of adjustments since I know what I like, but during testing I do this.
I've also seen guys use shrink wrap to grab the part of the connector that sticks out to "stiffen" the program and fan harness a bit again to aid in grabbing it. Did you get the Android App and Hotwire to work? |

Hi Randy!
Could you explain me how timing advance works in RX8. TP1: 0* Timing Advance TP2: 20* Timing Advance / RPM Range 5443-20,016 TP3: 40* Timing Advance / RPM Range 5443-20,016 TP4: 60* Timing Advance / RPM Range 5443-20,016 TP5: 80* Timing Advance / RPM Range 5443-20,016 Is it so that timing advance starts from 5443 rpm and continues to 20016? What if I use motor that revs 40k? Whats the point to set timing back to normal when motor is higher than 20016rpm? OR is that so that timing is 0 degrees from 0 to 5443 rpm and then timing will increase to xx* degrees linearly and reached xx* at 20016rpm and then stays there? Yes the timing advance begins coming active at the "Start rpm" and is fully applied at the "End Rpm." The rpm's that your motor can rev is irrelevant. You want to setup your timing to add the power where and when you want on the track. If the track is slippery and large for example, you can raise both your start/end rpm's to say 10k/30k to allow the timing to come on later out of the corner. |

Can you have a y coming out of the receiver, one end connected to the RX8 and the other for hotwire?

ESC fan screw size
What is the size of the screws used to hold down the fan to the case?

Export data features on Hotwire application

Many places should have product arriving and checked in next week. There are a lot of backorders so hard to say if any will show as in stock right away.
We do intend to add an export feature for the data logs. Likely a CSV file and you can have all the fun you want with it. We need to finalize a few more things before we commit to a standard format for the data. Long time ago, in june 2013, you wrote the quoted message above. In that time it was the introduction of version 2.38 of Hotwire software. The actual version of that software is 2.5 and the capability to export data is not there. It seems that you talk somehow with the authority of Tekin, then my question is very simple: Has Tekin the intention to introduce that capability in the Hotwire SW and by when? Many thanks for your replay. |

I have a converted tki3 to e buggy running tekin rx8 gen 2/1900kv combo. I ran yesterday on a medium/large outdoor track and my temps were 130 esc and 185-190 motor after a 10 min main. running a smc 6500 4s lipo. I have 2 holes on the lf and rf of the body as well as cuts in the back above esc and motor......I can feel the last couple mins of the main the car didn't have the pep it had to start with....im assuming from the heat. I am geard 15/46. I downloaded adam drakes profile off of the tekin website for the esc. |
Anyone ever have the switch never work in the OFF position? Basically when I plug the battery in, the switch is in the OFF position, and the system turns ON... turn it to ON, then to OFF, still stays on.

Open up the unit and inspect the switch wire where they meet the PCB. Look for solder whisps, debris, etc. Clean as necessary. IF that checks good, bend the "tang" on the switch straight and push the switch out of the plastic housing. Unsolder one lead, test. If the esc still never turns off, something is wrong inside a board assembly. |
Hi, I'm looking at buying a Tekin rx8 gen2 and I was wanting to switch it out to the black case, can anyone tell me if this is a simple straight forward swap or what would be involved
Thanks |
