Hey Randy, question about the EZ Access hotwire port. Will I need the hotwire adapter that's listed on Tower under optional parts for the gen2... if not what is that for? Can you just clarify how the hotwire access port works?

I was wondering that too... would suck to get the ESC and not be able to Program it because we are missing a wire... but it might be for something else. We just not sure !

I'm hoping the hotwire adapter is just for the that ez access port and that you can still use the hotwire the "old school" way if needed

The Gen 2 will come with the EZ port adapter for the existing hotwire cable.

The Gen 2 can also be hooked up to the hotwire the conventional Gen 1 method

So does the motor or ESC come witha sensor cable? I have a brand new T8 1900kv motor, havent even opened the box and I have a RX8 Gen2 on preorder from Amain.

Do I need to buy a separate sensor cable?
Do I need the "hotwire" to be able to program this?

I've never owned anything from Tekin before, that's why I'm asking.

I think a sensor wire comes with the motor.
You don't "need" Hot wire, you can do most of the programming with the button on the ESC. But to unlock the full potential of the RX8, you will want Hotwire.

Every company I know of includes a sensor wire with their motors new, none include them with ESC's. Depending on your application, you may need a sensor wire of a specific length that is different from what is included with the motor. For example, a b44 needs one that is about 70mm, while the scte 2.0 needs one 275mm. Neither of those lengths are typically included with a motor.

We include a 200mm sensor cable with all of our motors. The esc's generall don't come with sensors harnesses as pointed out.

If you have a Rx8 Gen2 and T8 you should have what you need.

Cool, thank you! I'm going to be running this setup in a RC8.2e FT that I'm building. I have a RX8 Gen2 on pre-order from Amain, they said they were coming in on the 10th, apparently I didn't get one from that order, that date came and went, now they are showing more coming in June sometime. I may have to find another place to order one....:(

If I had to guess I don't think anyone got one on the 10th. Maybe I'm missing something but I haven't seen a post yet where anyone is bragging about their new gen2. I have to imagine that as soon as online retailers start filling orders there will be a massive spamfest of OMG I ordered my gen2 today! Until we see that I think we're all in the same boat. Waiting....

Amain changed their release date of the 10th on the 9th. I'm guessing they didn't get them in from tekin. I'm hoping they don't change the release date of the 17th tomorrow.

Amain lists the 17th, stormer lists the 5th currently. We'll see...
