well I got new code that I can get the hd for $139 to oz

For those talking about 6v servos on 7.4v, electric motor performance is very linear when voltage is increased at the same amp draw minus the small amount lost due to extra heat. If you look at 7.4v servos that list both 6v and 7.4v performance like this RadioPost "Green" that for the 23% increase in voltage to pick up 12% decrease in transit speed and 22.5% increase in torque output.

Model: RPS2207M (Multi Servo)

Torque: @ 6.0V: 249 oz in @ 7.4V: 305 oz in
Speed:@ 6.0V: 0.08sec/0.07sec/

Savox says the SC1267MG gives you a 22% decrease in transit speed and a 54% increase in torque output. ( I queston a 23% increase in voltage giving a 54% torque increase on the same amp draw).

Speed(@6.0V sec/60): .11
Torque(@6.0V oz-in): 180.5
Speed(@7.4V sec/60): .09
Torque(@7.4V oz-in): 277.7

Hitec says the HS-7950TH gives you a 15% decrease in transit speed and a 20.6% increase in torque.

Speed (6.0v/7.4v) 0.15/0.13
Torque OZ/in (6.0v/7.4v) 403/486

So basically you can take you 6.0v servo specs and assume if it doesn't blow under the increased voltage that the transit speed will get 15-20% faster and the torque output will be 20-25% higher if you bump the RX8 G2 BEC from 6.0v to 7.4v.

Savox says higher amp draw with higher bec voltage... not saying torque numbers are correct

Stall current (at locked):* 2500 mA @ 4.8V
Stall current (at locked):* 3000 mA @ 6.0V
Stall current (at locked):* 3500 mA @ 7.4V

Can someone PM me the current member discount code for Tower? Gunna pick up a RX8 G2 right now.

Thats pretty much what I figured I just didn't see the numbers when I grabbed the data. So 7.4v x 3.5A =25.9w versus 6.0v x 3.0A =18w so thats a 44% increase in power consumption.

Ohm's Law

^^^ For those that unsure of what the increase of voltage means...

Amain now lists the release date as 06-08-13. Is that accurate? Another month?

I was trying to keep it simple...

im wondering that too....

Will we be able to dump out the raw data in a csv or similar form from the data logging?
I'd like to be able to compare across packs, runs, and dates, as well as script some stuff up for another purpose too.

The 1st batch probably won't even hit any stores shelves as there is probably that many on back order.

I expect you are correct, that is why I have mine is on pre-order. I'm just wondering when the 1st ones will ship. My current ESC fried, so I don't get to run my ebug till these ship. I'm going into withdrawal... Shake... Shake... Shudder... I need a fix...

Icero 05-11-2013 09:41 AM

this is a stupid question probably but does a sensor wire come with the esc and if so how long is it?

While 12 gauge wire is included, Tekin has yet to include a sensor cable with the esc as they pack them with the motors. I would assume this holds true for the rx8 gen2.

QuikWgn 05-11-2013 01:26 PM

There are several other companies that sell sensor wires of various lengths that should work for you unless something silly happens like they change the connectors on the RX8 Gen2 and T8i motors...currently there are 3 Tekin PNs for sensor cables...

TT3810 200mm Sensor wire
TT3811 100mm Sensor wire
TT3813 275mm Sensor wire
