What you don't want to see is heavy "hashing" on the voltage line that isn't directly related to the throttle input. In other words you want to see slow "waves" not huge vertical spikes, etc.

55c if that rating is "true" should be more than fine. A lot of batteries are over rated right now so be careful.

If you see your battery voltage falling very fast in say 6 minutes...falls off sharply you're packs are weak.

2050 in a truggy even one as light as the Tekno is walking a fine line. You'd be better served by a Tr8 Truggy motor, trust me.
Thanks sir.

At nearly 8 lbs your buggy is also on the heavier side. Ideally you shouldn't be that heavy on 6s. What size is your 6s pack?
the main straight is actually 85ft and my car weighs 3653grams
any suggestions?

Default Question for randy pike

Randy,
Just wondered what temperature you set your soldering station on? On one of my rx8s I shorted it out from too high of heat/holding iron to the post too long. I have a 60W Trak Power soldering station and it tops out at 896 F. I normally set it on 896F for soldering rx8s. I have watched your soldering video and will try to master your technique.

Thanks

Are you sure it's not 1-3-5 for low voltage?

Again try dropping the tooth. Is there a lot of tire spin?

Yeah 800-850 is fine. I run a Hakoo that's about 15 years old now and I've found that most good irons 40+ work great. The tip is critical though. You must use a medium or large chisel tip..the small "pin" tip won't do it.

If the software is detecting properly, V238. I will have to confirm/upgrade via laptop tonight when I get home.
I had trouble with the mobile app reading my Rx8g2 running an older version (I should have checked what that version was) But with an update the app worked just fine.

The RX8 for me is next level in Ebuggy. It has made the class actually enjoyable for me! I am very confident in my Tekin set up and am looking forward to the Nitro Challenge with the addition of this class for me.

Thank you Tekin!

Aside from Randy's suggestion about tip size, you should also make sure you are using sufficient flux. I use a weller 4033s which is just a simple iron, not a fancy soldering station. It has a big chisel tip and an 1100 deg operating temperature. Some may say this is too hot, but with proper preparation and use of flux I can solder a Tekin RX-8 terminal in about a second. No matter how hot the iron is, you only have to get the joint hot enough to flow the solder, so the faster you can transfer heat into the joint you are making, the less time that heat has to get to other parts of the electronics you are working on. This is what the joints look like (no excess solder and a perfect fit of the wire in the slot of the post):

No luck. I upgraded to the latest and changed a couple settings quick, BEC and fan always on. After that I connected it to the tablet/android and it instantly saw the new version but BEC and fan were back to defaults. It seems like if I set it on the android and do all the modifications from there I might be ok, but if you go back to the PC it might loose settings again.

Yep, I double checked. It has been cutting out on me and when I pull the throttle there is a 1/2 second delay before any response. This was not happening at first until 15 min into my run.

I've reset the speedo and now the hotwire won't even connect to it. My other RX8 is fine, so I believe it's the speedo.

Been thinking about this some, i feel it's already too much power.

So i'd be even more over-powered with a 2000Kv truggy can, wouldn't that be trading in 1 problem for another?

Ignore, think it was a fluke or one time occurrence.

I tested with another Gen2 I have, uprading via PC, changing settings, saving, tablet read it the first time no issues. I tried again on the first Gen2 I was having issues with, changed it on the PC, saved, and the tablet read it fine... So I think it's working ok now, maybe just a fluke.

i used the car again today and geared down, seems like the motor has burnt out, motor temps were like 122 C after 2/3 laps, and there would be a sudden loss of power from half way into the throttle, on top of this the motor seemed to cog quite bad.

and after the 2/3 laps the esc went into thermal shutoff (first time I've EVER thermal-ed an rx8), temps were like 105 C.

just want to know how i go about diagnosing the problem?
