Can someone explain how it works? From 80 down to 50 I really cant see that much of a difference. SCTE 2.0 with 14/40 Rx8 gen 2 with 0 timing.

Everyone else in the class is using the pro 4 4600 so I may give that a shot.

Current limit doesn't do anything to speed, it limits power for a very short amount of time when you hit the throttle so if you hit full throttle with no CL...full power, you hit full throttle with CL...it will smooth into power

it didnt work right at 6v either !, i just upped the bec voltage to see if problems were solved and NO same problems so 6v or 7.4v (or whatever you can adjust it to on rx8 gen2) still same
spektrum cap glitch buster was what solved it
i was wondering why it works with exact same setup in my truggy with NO spektrum cap! trying to see if bec was bad in esc

Ok...I was misunderstanding. And apparently that servo is GROSSLY underrated. There may be one component in this particular ESC that is weak but you wont be able to find it without an O'scope. If the glitch buster solved it I say let her roll and no worries. :tire:

pretty new to the hobby and just troubleshooting!

Check your endpoints. You could be binding the servo and forcing the BEC voltage to dip.

Is the Hotwire software compatible with the Google Chromebook laptop?

That servo is rated at 4.0 - 6v. The manufacturer knows what they built. http://hitecrcd.com/products/servos/...-servo/product

Applying 7.4v to component only rated for 6 will cause problems as he was obviously seeing. He switched back to 6.0v and it works fine...case solved.

Cough Cough.

boudin4evr 11-20-2013 09:16 AM

yes everything is set right endpoints and all
just gonna run the cap for now, it works just dont like having extra stuff on my rig that could go wrong
almost like having a bandaid
i had savox servos before they NEED the cap
all my other cars do not need it EXCEPT for my ebuggy
oh well

by the way,
Randy Pike did an amazing article in VRC mag newest edition!
He explains lots of the settings in hotwire from 1/10 scale offroad and touring car to 1/8 scale! check it out!
He needs to put this link on Tekin's website!

boudin4evr 11-21-2013 10:58 AM

This is too funny
from justpoet:
Please stop trying to sell VRC online magazine subscriptions in all the threads that mention Tekin ESCs. If you can link to the article for everybody to read as a resource, by all means please do. Otherwise, linking to any of Randy's posts about the settings in the various ESC threads that are on RCTech is going to be more helpful to most people, and they can even ask Randy questions directly that way too. As an example, here's the RX8 Gen2 thread.

Heres my reply:
_Im not at all trying to sale anything! Just saying it was a fantastic read of great info! I definitely wouldnt get anything back from VRC so what's your point!? I see on the threads that I'm on, racers asking the same questions about esc's and hotwire info trying to understand it! If I could post it for everyone I would! It's an online subscription only AND I asked Randy himself if he would post a link to it on the Tekin forums here or on Tekin's site! I get ridiculed for reaching out to Randy Pike to get some RC guys and gals educated and helped on answering some of their questions on this equipment! For your information , I DO KNOW where the Tekin forums are! I own several for my 1/10 and 1/8 applications! Thank you very little!

My rx8 g2 got wet, not soaked but it developed precipitation under the viewing plastic where the led's are.
It still lights up and powers the servo etc but is throwing the 1,2,5,6 code.
Will it ever work again? What should I try to fix it? No smoke or anything

akshayp14 11-22-2013 12:53 AM

i wouldn't try powering it up until its completely dry (i left mine over night to be safe and it was good to go the next day)
if it happened recently and there still are some water droplets visible i would recommend using a hair dryer or compressed air to just speed up the drying process.

in fact this has happened to me about 3 times now and all rx8s are still functional

akshayp14 11-22-2013 12:57 AM

you can read about my incident here:
http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...l#post12666245

it's also an idea to leave the esc in rice to rid all the moisture

IF it's showing 12 67 you can open it up and dry it out. Rice, or a hair dryer will work fine. I recommend the latter.

Make sure it's 100% dry, hook it back up check your A B C wires for good connections. Make sure you're on motor type 1 2 or 3 and power it up.

Result?
