I have borrowed an Absima CR4T radio for testing >>> http://www.absima.com/index.php?id=222&L=1
It is the same as FS-iT4, only in different case. I found a quite interesting thing - please check your iT-4 radios menu, go to the "RX setup" screen. Do you have an "AFHDS2" feature in the list? The Absima has it, but this feature is not mentioned in both manuals for Absima and Flysky. The magic is, if you uncheck this feature, you can bind and use the older 3-channel receivers, used with GT2 and GT3B/C radios. Just tested it yesterday.

My FS-iT4 does not have an "AFHDS2" feature which can be toggled on or off.

Great! Maybe Flysky can make this available in a firmware upgrade. Not that I need
it or would use it if it had it.

Magic is always fun but I fail to see an advantage for me. The Txs built in
telemetry would not work with older receivers and without that the FS-iT4 is just
another average radio that is not very different from the older stuff. Even if it
could bind to multiples (with AFHDS2 toggled off), I would rather install bind plug
switches on the new Rxs.
What sets the FS-iT4 apart for me is:
- built in telemetry - I'm spoiled now - gotta have it
- super convenient Li-Po battery
- good range (not FS-GT3b's range but very effective)
- AFHDS2 means it is one of the safest systems on the market - I like one bind at a time
- easy to see "ON" LED in the antenna stud
- nice bright screen
- etc, etc
I don't mean to *ee on your parade but the the FS-iT4 is what it is and I like the
features FlySky selected for it's release.

Steering Mix? anyone tried to get this working?
Has anyone tried the 4-wheel steering mixes?... I find that with two independent steering servos on channel 1 (front) and channel 3 (rear) the programming needs some work...
Mode "same phase" and "Reverse phase" work as expected - however, "Front side" mode causes Ch1 to "Steer" but Ch3 does not CENTER - it moves all the way to one end of travel, so the rear wheels are "locked" at FULL THROW... Also, "Rear Side" does NOT cause the expected centering of CH1 and response of CH3 to the steering wheel - but rather just behaves identically to "Front Side" - with the picture showing that CH1 is expected to be physically plugged into the rear axle steering servo... but I would have expected CH3 to be doing the rear steering throughout... anyone else tried this...?

A partial solution that seems to work (mostly) is to use 3 mixes -
Mix 1 is always on and acts to CENTER CH3 (Master channel: Steering, Slave Channel: CH3, Low side mix: 0, High side mix: 0, Offset: +100).
Mix 2 is assigned to SW2 (toggle) and provides "reverse phase" (4 WS primary mode) (Master channel: Steering, Slave Channel: Ch3, low side mix: -100, high side mix: -100, Offset: 0)
Mix 3 is assigned to SW3 (toggle) and provides "same phase" (crab steer) (Master Channel: Steering, Slave Channel: Ch3, low side mix: 100, high side mix: 100, offset: 0)
I'm new to mixes, but apparently Mix1 + Mix2 yields 4WS, while Mix1+Mix3 yields Crab Steer, and Mix 1 alone (or Mix1+Mix2+Mix3? ) yields Front Steer... The driver must remember to toggle Mix 2 off before toggling Mix 3 on... etc...
could use a few more Switches and fewer Trims... SW1 is assigned to CH4 for 2-speed transmission low/high shift.
Is there a "bug reporting" email/site for the firmware...?

OK, a bit more messing around and I ended up getting "Rear Steer" as follows:
Mix 4 (Master Channel: Steering, Slave Channel: Steering, Low side mix: -100, high side mix: -100, Offset 0).
then Mix1+Mix2+Mix4 OR Mix1+Mix3+Mix4 == "Rear Steering"...
these 3 mixes were the intended mixes of the "steering mix" for 4WS presumably.
Now if there just a way to change the "Trims" to Switches in the SW and assign them to various Mixes On/Off it might be possible to fix 4WS

The two posts I just made were in response to my own "reply" to this thread requesting info on the steering mixes and anyone using the 4WS modes - I think I used "Post Reply" instead of "Post Quick Reply" and it went to a moderator for review...

FLYSKY FS-IT4 transmitter
so far this remote sucks dam cheap price and china men screwed us over yet again. oh it great if you want to use this on one car or truck but you can forget about using it on multiple cars trucks that is unless you like to re BIND every time you change car / truck what a waste of time and money who cares if you can program 20 cars into it if you have to rebind after you switch cars

That's a good question. I have no solid answer but the things I would try are:
1. If you got yours from Hobby Partz then you could turn in a ticket and see if they
are able to explain it or direct you to a better resource for info.
2. Post your observations and questions on:
http://www.rcdiscuss.com/forumdispla...r-Discussions&
This forum is slowly getting some traction - can be slow at times.
3. Try the direct route at:
http://www.flysky-cn.com/eindex.asp
The email address is <[email protected]>. I've never tried using it.
I'm glad someone is working on Mixes and 4WS - wish I could help but my toys won't
allow it.
I'm hoping to try the tach in a few weeks.
