FlySky FS iT4 Transmitter Thread
#151
Hi All,
I am in the market for a new radio and am thinking about going this route, how is the radio overall? My last radio was a Futaba 4k but I sold it just before taking a little break from the hobby, I like the idea of the Flysky but do not want a toy like radio. Any suggestions would help.
Thanks

I tried to get the Absima firmware update to load to the FlySky radio, but it did not see the radio installed. The manual for the Absima seems to show some new features that are more advanced than the FS4 firmware - and the update appears to address some "crawler mode" issues. The Absima update (.EXE) shows up as "file version 1.0.0.1" and "company: Fly Sky".
The Fly Sky shows up in Devices and Printers as "FS-iT4-CN firmware update" - and the title bar of the firmware EXE shows "Absima ABS-iT4 firmware update".
The Fly Sky installs two devices under Windows when plugged into USB - both are "Human Interface Devices" - one is a HID-compliant device, the other is a USB Input Device - presumably this allows a control channel and a data channel with character I/O for programming. The Vendor ID is 284E and the PID is 8800 for both devices. The "bus reported device description" is "FS-iT4-CN firmware update" for the USB device. The device drivers are Microsoft's drivers - input.inf - generic HID devices.
...any tools that would make this easy...?

No doubt, the .exe F/W file performs effective device recognition.
This leaves several options:
- alter the .exe and defeat the device recognition - not sure if this is doable
- wait until FS publishes their own F/W release(s)
- extract the F/W from an FS-iT4 and learn how to compile a new .exe with tweaks
- do nothing if the OEM F/W is satisfactory - I'm leaning this way

i was supposed to get the FS-GT3C from my local hobby shop but they didn't have it in stock...so i went ahead and got the FS-iT4 instead.
so far everything's working so i'm a happy camper. i'll install the sensors later today for fun.

Does this radio have a faster response time than the GT3B? I liked the GT3B but it was just too slow for racing.

Please see page 36 of the FS-iT4 Instruction Manual. A detailed explanation of
when and how to use these controls safely and correctly is *not* covered in the
Instruction Manual and requires further research.

Love this radio, only problem is rebind every time you swap models. Is there a fix for this or am I going to get quicker at doing it between races?

The only practical solution for changing models quickly with the FS-iT4 is modding
the bind plug and making it a switched bind plug.
This concept was mentioned earlier (Reply #118) in this thread.
Changing bind (and model number/name if needed) takes less than one minute.

Hey guy's I didn't want to read the whole huge thread wondering 3 things did they fix the problem with model memory where you need to bind every time you change to a different model? If so how can you tell when purchasing? And what kind of run time before you need to recharge the tx. Now Im going to start searching and reading hope someone answer's before I get finished LOL

Anyone know if there is a fix in the works (update) for the 'must rebind every model you change to' problem?
#164
Anyone seen any instructions / videos on how to setup the speed sensor?
