WOW I had forgotten about this thread. I have had ZERO problems with my iT4 after I installed the new chip and flashed it with the new firmware. So no loss of signal, brown outs, failures of any kind on over a year.
People at the track still look amazed when they see the color touch screen. Then they see how much it does for the price and wonder about getting one. I was at the track on Thursday. I had not charged the battery in in a while. I was thinking i may not make the night. Well 4 trips to the track on Thursdays without charging and I was down to about 1/3 on the battery. Could make another trip and not have to worry about it. I have set this up in one of my 2wd Slashes for FPV driving. So far I loose the video long before I loose the signal to drive it. I am going out about 250m 300m around hills, bumps, bushes and trees. I am a died hard Airtronics man, yet this radio has so many features, plus the cost of the Rx's makes it hard to buy a Futaba or Airtroincs radio. Buzz. |
I have not ordered the chip yet. However, I emailed their customer support email and told them I needed one. They said it would be "free" but wanted $32 for shipping. I thought that was crazy. I order stuff from China all the time for less than a dollar. I told them that it was too much and to send it the cheapest way possible, even if it was in a regular letter envelope with a stamp. So they asked for $20. How much did you guys pay for the chip?
|
$32 that's b.s for that amount it better be delivered next day, my radio should be here tomorrow... hopefully i want have to do the chip thing Will update...

Any one know if you can update our transmitters to the new it4s version? seems to me just replace the main board and maybe the LCD..
|
My radio came with 1.0.1 US and i had the 1.0.2 US update. i updated to the 1.0.2 US and I cant adjust the throttle servo and the brakes are always on and cant be turned off or adjusted, everything worked fine on the 1.0.1 US firmware. I've emailed 3 different people at FS and still no answer and its been 4 days.. Does anyone have a link to the 1.0.1 US update they can post or a copy you could send me??
|
Ok here is my problem, If you notice the throttle you'll see that the brake/reverse is on. I have went through the radio looking at everything that has to do with brake and throttle and cant find any way to set it to off or center?? If i'm missing something please fill me in... the radio came with the 1.01 US and I updated to 1.02 US when I received it.. Please help...

So, I am returning to the R/C world and being out of the hobby for a while, I guess I am starting all over.
I purchased a yeti kit and I am in the process of building it as we speak. I have always been a Futaba fan. However, I saw the FlySky it4 and I was wondering, is it decent radio? I was intrigued because it had so many features usually only found in much more expensive radios. The last radio I used was a Futaba 3PK so I am curious how that would compare to the it4. |

I have a few flysky radios. Most of them no issue. On this one I had the bind problem, but like backyard basher said, if you buy new it should be fixed. I also have a gt3c that worked great for a year, and then started detecting low voltage on the batteries even though they were fine. Overall great radios for the price. But most serious track racers will not use them. Just my opinion.
In my area it seams that Spektrum is the "King" of the radios. I can't find Futaba, Airtronics, JR, or Ko Propo to save my life. As I said, this would be for my Yeti and I don't have any real desire to race, just doing the "scale crawling" thing. |
To be honest I don't know why. I think they get looked down upon because of the price. Or maybe they heard rumors about something. Since I don't race either I also don't care about using them.

I have the very same problem as bckyrdbshr, but even after the software upgrade and a factory reset, I still have this problem. Also, I still have to rebind my one receiver every time I turn the radio on. I just got the radio 2 weeks ago. Must be old stock. Just emailed Serena from the email I got from this forum to see about getting the new IC chip.
