Not sure if the OP from the linked thread has chimed in on this one, but there's a ton of great info on the thread posted. This guy seems to really know cheap radios, and recommends the Radio Links over Fly Sky's. |

Well it arrived and its all good, just a little disappointed with the seller. He said it was the latest stock direct from the factory but the firmware says 1.01 AU 1/6/2013 (d/m/y). Old stock:(

Do you temp sensor measuring range?
|
Finding the temperature sensor to be very erratic. It says the motor is 51c but when I double check it with the infered temp gun it says 66c, not once did it get anywhere near the right temp. Might be defective. I have it tapped to the motor with a nice clean consistent contact area.

As I know temp sensor works up to 100 Celsius.
Its to low for Gas powered Engines. |

Hey can anyone help me out. I am gonna start reading throught the pages of this thread to look for answer, but wanted to ask well. Does anyone know how or what the process is to get the sbus reciever working with the transmitter? To clear up any question be for they get asked, Yes it is the sbus that came with the remote that is AFHDS 2 intended for this remote (referring to the FlySky FS-IT4).
I can't seem to get the remote to bind and operate when using the SBUS, but when using the regular receiver it works perfectly fine. Yes I know I can get more receivers, but I have this one and would like to be able to use it as well. Plus the regular receivers have been out of stock for a little while now and I would really like to set up and use another vehicle with this remote. Any help or suggestions would be nice. Thanks Cole |
Has anyone been able to update from firmware Version 1.01-CN. I just got this radio from Amazon and it has the binding issue. I tried to flash 1.02-US but the TX is not recognized. I have another FS-iT4 that came with 1.01-US and it updates without a hitch to 1.02-US

Just did a firmware update on my radio. I had a slight issue with the cable. switched to a different cable and mine updated. Not sure if that is where your issue is but worth a shot. |
Still looking for some help with the SBUS Receiver. Can't get it to work at all. Don't know what I am over looking. I don't see how this radio could come with it and not be able to use it. Any ideas would be helpful thanks.

Hi!
I have been lurking for almost over a year over this topic and 11 months ago purchased the radio - a re-branded Modelcraft GT4. Previously I owned Spektrum DX3S, FS GT3B, FSGT3. Now I have this iT4 and Radiolink RC3S Pros about iT4: - no signal glitches compared to awful Spektrum DX3S (will newer by Spektrum agian as the problems came from sloppy design flaws that one would not expect from kind of brand name supplier! - full range telemetry (Spektrum only 20m) - good usable signal up to 600m (650yrd) - good feeling in the hand, nice balance - can use cheap 3ch receivers from old system - on paper - tons of features - in reality they will be cons! - telemetry for temp, rpm, voltage - basic crawler mode - 4 channels - bright colour LCD - touch screen - easy to use - build quality solid, but not high Cons: - the software on features is poorly implemented, sloppy in details. There are so many things that one could list to be improved (and it was done on this thread - but no upgrade yet) - build flaws: pots are not centered to central position in SW and no possibility to adjust either SW or pot. No calibration of end-points and center point of steering and throttle - no possibility to adjust trigger position mechanically - some buttons made in a way that you are not sure if they were pressed or not? - telemetry is there, but no settings on it. * You can not set Temperature upper limit in two stages (warning, alert) * you can not set lower limit for battery, also in two stages (warning, alert) * RPM sensor screen has no max reading (so you have to look down while reaching top speed ? ) * current sensor is missing in the portfolio at all (with the settings of course) With co-use of voltage sensor you could read power, consumption etc. Very useful in car and boat racing * voltage sensor is there, but I do not dare to connect it to anything else than 1S in balance connector. so many horror stories about fried receiver / sensor over the net... * lap timing sensor / system missing for practice - no data logging on telemetry - mixing has only basic channel to channel mix, no options at all - not all buttons are used for switching channels - only 4 channels are used - why not 8? Plenty of buttons on the radio that could be used for those boat / crawler people? Reciever are already made for both old and new RF system. - no 3 position servo setting from button (winch neutral, forward, reverse for instance) - sloppy aftermarket support: after one year since the binding issues solved - it is still the only topic on the thread. No other improvements at all - can not adjust voice scheme (startup - shut down sounds, click sound, alert sound - just some cheap F1 / vroom-vroom / siren sounds from circus.... or total silence. - battery life (can fail on 4 hour trail run...) I have used the radio in last year quite a bit for both buggy racing (1/8 electro), boat racing (eco expert, mono 1), bashing (1/5 petrol car), crawling (Vattera TH, HSP Pangolin) On all the cars I have also used DX3S, GT3B and RC3S in various occasions. DX3S has best feel in the hands, nice settings of options, usable but not always working telemetry. 3-rd chanel easy to use, has settable fail safe. GT3B has also nice ergonomy, can be hacked to 8 channels with hard to master programming, otherwise nice and working basic functions, 3-rd channel hard to use. RC3S has bad ergonomy. Area between thumb and pointing finger too thick, steering wheel offset too big to be possible to use single hand and do the steering with thumb (I have big hands!). Has 4 channel, 3-rd and fourth on button or pot, adjustable. No telemetry, but the only one with pot for easy setting of mix or channel position. Failsafe not settable, but is there (returns servos to neutral position - which is not always wanted). Build quality is mediocre. Battery life superb. In the end - the cheapest 4 channel radio with crawling capabilities, mixing, pot for channel - for 50$... iT4 has nice feel in the hand, working telemetry that is not functional as it could be, has 4 channels, nice color display that is thirsty on battery power - so for trailing you might need a spare battery! Also easy to work on menus -as it is the only one with touch screen. So bottom line (for me at least): iT4 could be a verry (verry!) nice radio, if FlySky would listen to users and sorted out the SW. Also the price is inbetween the so called brand name Spektrum, real brand name Sanwa MT4 and above other non-brand, but solid radios like RC3S. Just today I have shipped the radio back to Voelkner.de for a replacement due to a fault on trigger mechanism (sloppy workmanship) and waiting to get a replacement. After that I will be scouting for a more refined radio with working options and usable telemetry (if FlySky does not surprise us with updated FW ;-) ) At the moment one of best amateur grade all arround options - but must be improved. Cheers |
Anyone have issues with range and battery power? I trailed one of these in a SCT 1/10 over the week end. Got a continual beep coming from radio. I had charged the battery to full capacity however I am sure it was a battery issue. The full colour screen was pulling a lot of power out of the battery. By the third Heat I had lost control at the longest distance from the driver stand.
As it is 3.7 volts I am thinking of modifying a 3.7 v 5000mha Turnigy Battery to fit the radio. Can anyone see any issues with this? I mean too much power amps etc? I am not good with electronic shite... Maybe FlySky can bring out a battery with more Mha?? 4000 or better not a scabby 1200. |
Quick question for IT4 owners: did anybody successfully use the magnetic speed sensor (or any other) to correctly get the engine rpm for a gas vehicle? It strikes me as odd that the max rpm is 16000. It basically makes it useless for nitro and also for gas because there are 2 magnets on the flywheel so that effectively means it could only detect up to 8000rpm which again is very low... The 100C max temperature is another bad limit.....
Also, I understand there's a new IT4S model coming out soon, anybody got details? Heard rumours about a competition mode (which restrict communication to just 1-way for faster response) and increased limits on the sensors (60000rpm on the speed sensors and 250C on the temp sensor). |
Do you hair about new FS-IT4S?
