You guys will be very happy with the VTX8. It is everything they say..... I have ran a test unit in my Agama on 4cell and my TS4 on 2cell and it performs flawless in either. Very durable and runs cool. Progauge is the same as the 1/10 so if you can tune one you can tune them all. ;-)

Maybe you can enlighten us about the sensor wire. What happens if it comes out?

Yes if the sensor wire come out mid run it stops.

I have never had a sensor wire come undone in either 1/8 or 1/10. It's a non issue that only haters gripe about. As long as you don't run a señor wire for a year straight you will be fine.

You guys are going to like this VTX8. Very smooth. ProGauge set up, it's been very durable through testing. We tweaked on it to get the 2s 4pole profile right and for the 1/8 guys - this thing has performed since day one. The prototypes have won or podiumed several regional size trophy here in the Northeast. Can't wait to see what you all have to say about it.

Can you tell us what are the main features of the VTX8 software?

Has it something more compared to a RX8? Do you have a setup guide eventually?

The VTX8 definitely looks like an interesting alternative.

Thumbs up

I don't always post pics of ESC's...

But when I do, it's a VTX8

I'll be spending the next week trying to understand all the settings

The wires are pre-soldered but not permanently attached. I'll take a wild guess and say they want to avoid warranty issues from cold or overheated joints.

There is a guide to all the settings in the instruction manual (and will be posted on the website soon. Its the same as our VTX10 series speed controls with the added settings for 2pole - 4 pole motor. All the boost functions, brake and throttle functions are programed the same way with the ProGauge as well. No laptops needed for tuning.

We do pre-wire our esc's now. You can remove them or change them if you have a solder iron, but we did find early on that the majority of warranty issues were related to bad solder joints (either colder or shorted terminals). With brushless and lipo - soldering has become a lost art of r/c.

The only Viper Belgium distributor won't answer, can you tell us where to find the VTX8 in Europe?

It's a good decision to pre-solder the wires, Tekin had many troubles because users (me included) messed up the soldering. I learned but as a company it will save you from sending an ESC back just because someone stayed to long on the soldering posts. Very clever.

It literally came out last week so I don't know if they would have it yet. You can also order it direct from us. Site is in my signature.

thanks, trouble is I would get massive taxes if I order in the US so I'll wait till I can find it in Europe

What's the warranty time exactly? The cost of a replacement unit if it fails after the warranty time is finished?

Gabriel Galeano won the 1/8 E-Buggy Open at the Track. The VTX8 and Viper motor took his Mugen to the TQ spot and win in the A Main by a lap!!!! Gabriel won a few races with the VTX8 while we were testing - so its great to be able to brag about his wins now the the VTX8 is released!!!

Are there any ways to make sure your sensor wire won't come out during a race, but still have the ability to remove it later? Also, how often should your replace sensor wires?

I've never had one come out but i don't see why you couldn't put a dab of hot glue or something on it. Man I need to order one of these tomorrow I think.... I am liking viper products more and more every time I get a new one.
