I know SMC does not. As far as others go.... don't think so but not certain.

Very happy w the turn around on my battery order:) I got 2 of #5670-2s2p. Due they need break in?

Best results are with two easy cycles: Fully charge em, & drive easy for 5 minute practice laps.(till about 7.8 volts) Fully charge and repeat. Then let 'em rip! :tire: :tire:

I know some do break ins but I know plenty of racers who just run the packs as they come and they seem to have no issues. You can expect the first run of the day to be a bit softer as the chemicals will be more active once they have been used once.

4600 is the maximum if you still want good IR. When trying to increase mAh you must sacrifice IR/C rate. There really is no benefits going that route. Cell size also dictates mAh so when you need to keep the cells a certain size to fit the case and pass ROAR rules you are limited.

Actually we do see some of our packs melt the case around the 4mm inboard tube. If the tube gets dirty or the connection isn't nice and tight this can happen. From what I heard this can happen to any pack and isn't related to the quality. The plastic used to make the cases isn't heat resistant like the plastic used on a Deans , Traxxas or other connector.

Brings up a good point. Do you recommend some type of dielectric grease or something to help get more life out of the connectors?

I did switch to solid bullets, but the female bullets wear and loosen up and lose the plating.

Actually I think inboard tube packs aren't the way to go as you can't change the female tubes if they wear out. This is why a wired pack in my opinion is a better design as you can change connectors after awhile if it gets worn out.

Good point. I also think a wired pack is better since you have less of a chance to reverse the polarity and fry the ESC and LIPO.

So in 2013 you can still blow up a ESC if you plug it backwards ? You would think that they would have protection against this by now.

Not sure anyone will come out with a way to stop stupidity, if you can't tell red from black or plus from negative you should use a Deans or something, just saying.
Would be cool if they had some sort of circuit breaker but that would lower there sales!

rcjunky1 04-26-2013 10:08 AM

if it was a breaker, you'd pop it, then the people that plug in batteries backwards would just flip them back on without fixing the issue :P Unfortunately a big diode would sacrifice too much performance...

Discount code?

SMC batteries are already a steal of a deal... for the perfomance and price.. no discount needed or expected. I'm always happy when Danny takes me money! :D

Didn't you hear they have a 2 for 1 deal! You pay $50-65 instead per pack instead of $100-135 which other companies charge :)

Hey, just trying to save even more. ;) Budgets are tight.

Just ordered two batteries, looking forward to trying them out.

Smc batteries are great you won't be disappointed
