That's not really true. I run deans on my 4s powered e-buggy, as do a lot of other drivers at my track. Traxxas, deans, ec5's all work well, but nothing beats a solid-type gold bullet connector.

What do you mean? An EC5 is a bullet type of connector.

He mans bullet connectors straight into the battery. No other connection break area.
Well, one difference: any heat caused by resistance in the bullet connector doesn't end up in your battery. |
A pack with inboard tubes and a wired pack will have the same resistance assuming the wire length to the ESC is the same. Solder connections is what and wire length is what increases resistance. Both style packs have the same solder connections.
As I explained it's very hard to offer packs with different connectors. Some like EC5 and others may like the XT60 or other connector. For those running EC5 can you tell me if the male connector is solid or does it swivel ? Current flows on the surface so typically you want a good surface area and you want it solid. |

Mine swivels and the connectors are never hotter than the wires.:)

Just like with 4MM, some are solid (Losi and ProMatch (sorry)), some are birdcage (Hobbyking).
I use the hobbyking ones for nothing but charging. We only sell solid real copper 4mm connectors. Makes no sense to try and buy good packs and then increase resistance by using bad connectors. |
