Got my 4s Factory Spec's today Danny! All I can say is that as usual they are fantastic! Haterz gonna hate. Keep fighting the good fight!

I'm totally new to lipos and these will be my first batteries ever.

For those using the Hyperion 720i, would you mind sharing the memory presets you would choose (i.e., charge/discharge limits, etc.) for the Factory Spec 7.4V 6500mAh 60C? I'm planning to order a few and want to avoid setting anything "stupid". :P

Thx in advance.

I personally think 2C-3C is fast enough and still gives a good charge. When going to high you will not get as much mAh into the pack. If your using a high end charger that has adjustable termination then you can charge at higher rates and get a full charge.

I never tested to see how charge rate impacts cycle life. Maybe someday I will do such a test.

Can't find the data sheet at the mo, but charging lipo to 4.1 doubles cycle life.

Batteries are in stock!

That's a good charger, you don't need to set limits... let it do its thing. One thing you may want to set in the memory slots is a 1c charge profile (6.5a) and a 2c profile for a quick charge (13a).

Recently debated charge limit to be set a hair below the full 4.2v per cell... that's how I charge and I have seen a data sheet like nanoverse is talking about showing the difference in cycle life setting the charge limit to 4.18v per cell.
To each his own.

You will not have any problems though just plugging it in and charging though.

Check again, the site states "PRE-ORDER" as stock status, these are NOT in stock but at least you can pre-order them now.

Stanfsu 04-11-2013 07:00 AM

I do not see the "Pre-order" on the site?

ironzgti35 04-11-2013 07:35 AM

Hmm...the batteries show as being able to 'add to cart' and checkout but if you click a specific battery the stock status shows 'pre order'. Maybe Danny or WIGMAN can confirm what our options are here

2 7200 2s race formula packs ordered! Boom! Good things come to those who wait. Even if they are pre-ordered, at least it's in there.

Just a quick hit on the 2 factory specs packs I picked up last week. Batteries are by far some of the best I have used. I am more then willing to wait a little longer to pick these up from a US seller, with great service, then take my chances overseas or overpay for lesser quality.

This is very helpful. Thank you. Just want to be sure because I've been reading different charge/discharge limits preferred by various users.

We hope to have 70C packs listed on the site by this weekend to start shipping on the 15th.

For International shipping we must use UPS as it's illegal to ship via postal service out of the US. This makes shipping expensive but we will not break the shipping regulations to make a few dollars selling outside the US.

When are they going to be available in Europe?

I e-mailed Danny to see what is going on, they may be trying something with the pre-order thing not sure though.

WIGMAN 04-11-2013 11:25 AM

For those with pre-order questions, this is post on the smc facebook page.

As many of you have been asking us to take pre-orders I asked our website guy to try and update the site to allow pre-orders. To my surprise when I woke up there was many orders on the site. Seems like the site can now take pre-orders. I've deactivated it for now as I want to make sure we have proper warnings mentioning that the packs are on pre-order.

For those who ordered packs thinking they were in stock I can cancel the order or leave it as a pre-order.

For the 70C models they will start shipping on Monday and I will have the packs listed on the site tomorrow afternoon.

Sorry for all the confusion but the good news is that for those who want to pre-order this will be possible very soon.
