welll now the ESC has a switch back on and still no power

B16A2 08-11-2015 02:55 PM

Just unsolder the switch wires from the logic pcb, don't bridge the tracks. Then the ECS stays on all the time.

XCRAZYBENX 08-11-2015 03:08 PM

Soo your saying run it with no switch period take it apart and take it off the board?

B16A2 08-11-2015 03:11 PM

Test for continuity on the switch at the logic board side, it should be open circuit.

Also ensure you have the logic board connected properly to the switching board, no bent pins, all pins connected ay both sides of the ESC.

Do alot of ppl just run them without the switch? How do I test this for continuity?

B16A2 08-11-2015 03:15 PM

Iv removed my switch. Its pointless and is just a failure point.

Test for continuity with a multi meter.

From the Flow manual:

On/Off Switch: unique design, please read! The switch operates as „active low“, this means if you cut-off the
switch the speed-control will always be turned on and not off! The reason is, that in case the switch gets damaged
in a crash and fails, you‘ll still be able to complete your run with no switch!
In case you‘d prefer running without the On/Off switch and want the speed-control to be turned on instantly once
you connect it to a battery, you must remove the switch and not connect the two wires which go to the switch!
On the other hand if you use 1S batteries and a receiver battery pack or BEC-booster you should bridge the switch
wires to leave the speed-control in Off position.

How do i test for continuity?

B16A2 08-11-2015 05:40 PM

Multimeters have a feature where the meter will beep when the two probes touch. This means there is continuity (switch contacts in the closed position). If you test the two contacts on the pcb and get a beep chances are you have a bridge in your soldering of the switch.

The meter will have a setting with symbol something like this .))) for the continuity feature.

If you want to trial it - on any ESC that uses a plain switch - just cut the wires and plug in a battery. If it doesn't turn on, unplug battery, connect the wires, plug the battery in again. Presto.

Does anyone know if it's possible/how to get the firmware updater to work on windows 10?

prodriver 08-15-2015 10:29 AM

Hi guys, in blinky mode is there any settings on the flow works that will make the speedo have more grunt? Initial drive?

Cheers

cplus 08-15-2015 03:01 PM

Yes, initial drive will give more "punch"

But also creates heat.

I've had no issues without a booster on a 235 car
