Hi there.
Just last week I was in your shoes and did not know what to do.
I went and bought a battery for the RX but decided to give it a go without and see what happens, and guess what it works perfectly without a rx booster or rx pack.
I just disabled the low volt protection as you don't really need it.
My setup is a Flow Work with D3 13.5 and savox servo with Futaba 4pl and we run 8min runs.
It did not show any signs of power loss or acting weird.
In fact on my first time out with my x12 with this setup last weekend I took pole position in the Qualifies so, yes it can work without the extras although many people and the manual says it shouldn’t.

Cool thanks I will give it a go

With a 17.5 and maybe even a 13.5 you might be able to get the Flow to work without a voltage booster or rx pack. If you run anything faster than that you will likely encounter issues.

That's what I thought too
But, TQ in Mod 12th at iic used a Flow with no booster, and a 9650 servo
Apparently 1s lipos have improved enough to do this now
I've been running an LRP without booster since the SXX update boards came out, well over a year now, however in 13.5 & 17.5
Crazy as it sounds :tire:

Hi Guys,

maybe someone can help me here:

I'm bought a LRP Flow for a local race series and there are 3 motors allowed and now i have to buy one of them. LRP X20 13,5T (4-Dot Timing), Much More FLETA 13,5 +10° Timing (ETS-Motor) and the Speedpassion 13,5T +10° Timing motor. All of these are running in Zero-Boost Mode.

Maybe someone can recommend one of these motors? Don't know the differences in their performance.

Big Thanks :)

Well, i only know the Lrp and the SP, but i would definately go for the X20.
It's the best 13. 5 motor i've ever run.

FYI, LRP X20 doesn't use dots on timing inserts
They are labeled with the actual timing amount

Great motor though, as good as anything out there, runs cool too

pic shows 27.5 deg, I've never heard of negative timing on an LRP ?

Ahh Horsham, nice, lucky you

Rule of thumb with LRP
use 27.5 timing for punch, gear to laptime
if more top end is needed, use more timing

I rolled 99mm at iic with 32.5 timing, and that was conservative there (Big track, no tight turns)

Home track, 27.5 timing, 96-98 roll
