Your are right, but the brake is still a bit softer and the maximum amount of drag brake is higher on the 4.7. For the initial punch(minimum throttle) you can set the mode 4 to 9 and it will be the same. Furthermore the initial punch can be in finer increments with 4.7 firmware. 5.4 can be set to a higher initial punch setting as the 4.7(20/27), which can beneficial in 1/12 or at a layout with a lot of 180. On the end you can try both and use the one you like the most.
Have fun

You can run the bd3 brakes on 5.4, it's the second option. Personally I like the X stock brake (default 5.4) better for stock classes, I think it has enough strength and the lo/hi speed brake balance is better. You might find running 1-2 initial brake with the X stock gives you a better brake feeling.

For the d4, I would start with 4.6 fdr and 50* timing. Adjust gearing to temp/track size.

There is not turbo function available in the 5.4. In Stock you whant more overall, therefore you put at lot of boost on it. But there will be no room left for any turbo.
the 5.4 allows al lower initial drive and boost values as the 5.0.
I hope this isn't even information helps.

I own (2) LRP flows and x-20 motors. I want the V 1.5 software so that I can have reverse. I own a mac and have read there are issues when using a mac to update software ? I have called LRP N AMERICA ( California) 2 times and left messages. with no call back. I have sent (2) e-mails, with NO REPLIES 3 weeks ago. I have a local LRP TEAM driver who said they cannot help me with that either. I have never before dealt with a company with no regard to customer support as this in my 20 yrs of playing with toy cars. The product is nice, however this I wish I could say lack of support, but I have to call it zero help from LRP is disappointing . I have no problem sending them in and paying. I have checked the website for info on how to do this. If it is there I must have missed it. I would of thought a return phone call or a return e-mail would be reasonable with in 3 weeks ?

I should show you the (slow and painful) email conversation I had with the customer support team in Germany.... took weeks for them to confirm that their software update program does not work on OSX...talk about stuck in the 1980's!

Normally when I think of German companies I think, efficient, reliable market leaders...not in this case unfortunately.

Perhaps someone can download the software to a laptop and bring it to the track for you, then you can just use your bridge to update.

All the best

Fortunately I've never had issues with LRP products either, but the support side is probably driving racers to other brands...

Unfortunately the firmware updater wasn't updated since 2011. I thied it on all of my macs and it only worked on the one with Lion installed. I contacted my team-manager at LRP America to assist us with this issue.

Default Software update on a mac help?

Hey guys,

I bought a Flow Competition ESC and a USB Bridge spec 2. I use an imac. I downloaded the firmware driver from the LRP site okay. When I click on the LRP Firmware Update Tool 2.0.7 icon to install the software, all I get is a pop up message that says "LPR Firmware Update Tool 2.0.7" is damaged and can't be opened. You should eject the disk image. I have tried to download it 3 times from scratch deleting the previous download first but still got the same result.

any tips?
