Question for you guys:
I want to buy a spektrum module for my 3pk and the new micro receiver, which module should i choose: Hrs module or Pro module Let me know Thanks |
Well...break it down..
If you want telemetry, go with the Pro Series with the standard SR3001 receiver... If you want the best latency you can get, go with the HRS... If you want the smallest and lightest receiver you can get anywhere, go with the Pro-Series module with an SR3500 receiver.... |
Thanks for the quick reply.
So, if i understand well, HRS module doesn't work with the new micro receiver SR3500, right? So i will get the pro module with 2 micro receivers, did the receivers are availble right now? Thanks |
The Pro Series includes the SR3001 receiver which is the same size as the original receiver. If you'd like to go with the SR3500 receiver's you'll have to buy those seperately as they're not packaged with a module. I didn't know if you meant that you're going to buy just the module and 2 receivers or you wanted to get that as one package, sorry :) I am 99% sure that you should be able to get the SR3500 in hobby shops now, if not they can definately order them and they'll be out really soon.

Are the pro series modules out yet.

Yes.

Gary,
Our LHS had at least one 3500 receiver come in last week, so YES, they are (or were) available. I got to see one, but it was already spoken for. I may try to pick one up for myself tomorrow if they got another one in. |
I knew they had been available for order thru the horizonhobby.com and for dealers to order, but I didn't know where they were in transit. Good to hear they're making their way out there, you guys are going to love them!

I saw them last night at my LHS for $99.99. They are not much smaller than the original. I really do not see an advantage for a TC unless you have a oversized speedo. Nice for 12 and mini/micro cars. But $100 for a reciever is to much. I will wait until they go used

I'll try to post a pic of both side by side later today. Trust me, the SR3500 is considerablly smaller than the SR3000 or the SR3001. It's the smallest receiver on the market and on cars like the 415, RDX, or T2 where space is limited behind the servo and in front of the motor, this frees up a ton of space. Plus, for Mini's and Micro's, this is going to be the hot ticket too. There's just so many upsides to it.

Ive seen some pretty small non-Spektrum receivers. It definately freed up a bunch of space in my RDX. I was able to put a brushless system back in. I had taken it out b/c it was just too cumbersome trying to fit it in there. I think when people see them side by side they will notice a difference. Or trying to put one in their car. I suspect this will be the receiver to get for electric touring cars (for those using Spektrum).

Took a comparison photo from my cell phone earlier, just waiting for it to go thru the network and come to my e-mail. I'll post it as soon as it comes thru, and it's a 1.3meg camera so the quality is pretty decent too.
