Electric 1/8 buggy components question
#1
I am traditionally a nitro racer, but am looking for something new, so I am converting a Losi 8ight buggy to electric. Having said that I do not know much about ESC, Motors, batteries or chargers. I have some questions.
What is a decent ESC for 1/8 that will take the abuse of racing? Are there any specific parameters for ESC to look for in this particular use? Volts? Amps? etc.
I have seen motors listed as kv. Is lower number = slower or less power?
Batteries- what is the C value as in 50C vs 60C? also what is 2s vs 4s? Is that the number of cells? How high of an amp rate can you charge a battery at? I ask as some chargers allow for higher amp charging. Which leads to my next question about chargers. Do I need a balancer? What is a balancer?
Thanks

There are volumes of information, both good and bad, if you use the search function in "Electric Off-Road"
Here's an example that will help with your first question: http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...erun-150a.html
