No, they just said return the module and receiver, but had they rep. said yes we are aware of a problem or we have had a few customers call about this matter I would have felt a little more relieved. I had issues with a previous brand of electronics and after several failed attempts of repair I moved on to another brand, I have been very satisfied with my Futaba equipment up to this point, I just hope they dont leave me out in the cold.

I'm happy with the tension of the trigger, I just have big fingers and I'm having trouble getting comfortable with the space provided! I do not know how to provide myself more space, weather it be heating the trigger and moving it out or another method that I'm not aware of! Thank you all for your response!

I had the same problem. My finger would actually start to fall asleep. I just carefully dremeled the corner off the trigger and that did the trick. It didnt take much maybe 1mm thats all.

Well interestingly enough I sent the email to r/[email protected], but the reply came back from [email protected], I only just saw that by checking the replies properties..

Again no response after the first pathetic reply, I'm going to send one directly to [email protected] now and see if that works.

I doubt that you will get anyone that officially represents Futaba confirm that the temp problem exists.

My guess is that each case will be handled seperately and that no problem will be recognized. I'd expect changes will be made to any further product produced the world will go around and things continue.

Can you imagine if all the Futaba 2.4ghz systems had to be recalled because the RX chip has a temp issue in some instances. I'd guess the main chip in all their 2.4ghz systems are the same (car, heli, plane).

Default Receiver Problems

Well, this sucks!

I am also experiencing this problem: whenever my receiver gets up to a certain temp it cuts out and the LED is solid red. Several minutes of complete shutdown/cooldown LED turns solid green and it's good to go again. Fortunately, it doesn't happen ALL the time, but it does happen often.

I love my Futaba 3pks with the FASST system, but if this receiver temperature problem continues without any Futaba support/resolution, I (as well as many others) will be changing brands.

I have another buddy with the exact tx/rx system and has the same EXACT same problem. We're both considering Spektrum modules.

The good ppl from [email protected] have replied again, but unfortunately anything outside the U.S. is not covered by warranty from them, so I have to pay shipping, labor and parts...

Here's their reply

Thank you for your recent e-mail.

We handle warranty claims for items purchased in the US. If you want to send it in to us we can look at it for you. However it would not be covered under warranty and you would have to pay for it. The labor rate is $30.00 an hour ($15.00 minimum) plus parts and shipping. Once we receive it here it is usually back out the door in 3-5 days. That does depend on if any parts that are needed are in stock or on back order. Please ship your product to:

Hobby Services
3002 N Apollo Dr Suite 1
Champaign IL 61822

with a brief letter describing the problem you have had. Our staff will inspect your product and will notify you regarding their findings.

Sincerely,
John G.

Hello there

Thank you for the response even though its not what I wanted to hear, so let me try again.

I have 2 RF603FS receivers, neither of them work at a temperature of over 60 degrees Celsius for more than a few minutes, is that to be expected and if so how can I use my Futaba gear when our track temp often exceeds 60 degrees Celcius?

-------Original Message-------

So things are looking up for you U.S. guys, as suggested above evryone with the problem needs to contact Futaba, use the [email protected] addy so we can get this resolved.

I'm going to ring toytraders again today (they don't even have an email addy...) and try to get something going for all us aussies, it's gonna be like chinese water torture.

do you guys wrap your receiver with rubber foam?? I am thinking of placing the receiver on the inside of the lip that closes the receiver box with some silicone tape so the receiver will be without rubber foam that I have it in and the air can pass though it and cool it. The reason I am thinking of having it upside down is to avoid the dirt from getting inside of it.. What do you guys think.. I will throw pic for you can understand what I am trying to say. The receiver is still protected there no vibration and it is easy to get to and more room for the cables..

That might not be a good idea. Heat rises so if you mount it upside down it might run hotter.

so should I wrap it in foam or leave it without the foam wraps?? I have notice that it get a little hot but it does not turn off or nothing. Should I just take out the foam wrap I have in and stick it to the bottom of tray???
