I've been using the Hitec module since last February without a problem. Futaba has a synthesized module coming out soon.

As far as radio batts are concerned, I need for someone to relay to me what materials I need to build my own rechargeable packs and what's the best place to get the stuff from. Also to recharge your 'homemade' packs w/ the charger that came with the radio, can't you just solder on the plug that came on the 700 mAh pack?

If any one is looking a selection of the best batts out there, here's a site for ya.... take your time and look through it...

Running 5th scale I get to take advantage of almost all the features too....

I love the servo speed and exponential controls... If my car (or me) is being a bit twitchy I'll slow the response down a bit....

I do need to put better batteries in it, I have the standard 700mah pack....

How is the HRS? I don't have any HRS recievers, just FM and PCM...
HRS won't work properly with some ESC's with variable adjusting frequencies and some brushless controllers.

I really have no need to switch to the HRS anyway.... I run the Novak systhesized recievers in all my "race cars" and standard futaba FM's in my bashing cars.... I am running PCM in my 5th scale though.... I've been contemplating the Hitec module but I may just wait out the Futaba one...

I received my 3PK last night in the mail. Very nice feeling in my hands and wow, the menus are so much nicer then my 3PJS. I have a feeling this will be a great radio, only thing I do not care for yet is the steering wheel foam, it tends to push in and bind. The same thing happened to my 3PJS and it wouldn't center due to binding. I'll have to glue the foam down or replace the wheel all together. But beautiful radio! Neat idea to be able to program your name into it, makes it easier to identify at the track.
