In my particular case, I could never get it to run properly sensored. Sensorless it works perfectly fine, with expected side effects of a sensorless setup.

I bought a MMP for my ballistic, and when I plugged in the sensor port, it just made a clicking noise. I kept messing with the motor timing thinking that was the problem.. the more I retarded the motor the worse it got. That was on a ballistic 540 and 550 can I had.

I had to send that speed control to Castle who sent me another one. Same issue. I plugged those cans into a kintetic speed control. Like butter.

For your info.

Thats funny...I have had the exact opposite experience! I bought a Kinetic/13.5 combo. It caught fire the first time I used it. Switched to MMP and haven't had a problem since!

Do you think it might have been your sensor wire?

Moe info is needed: which wind Ballistic 550, what is the on-resistance of the MMP and how many cells are you planning to use?

For example, with our escs, we recommend our Havoc Pro SC and GTB2s (0.00040 ohms on resistance) for use with our Ballistic 550 4.5T using 2S, only.

When using additional cells, follow the 550 guide for winds, here (drop-down menu):
